About your trip

Whole Hearted You: Coastal Redwoods Yoga Retreat

Calling out to all big-hearted, tree-hugging, magic-making humans! Hosted this year in mid-November, this retreat is an opportunity for you to connect to gratitude with the support of daily mindfulness and movement practices, connection to a community of like-hearted people, immersion in the healing properties of the surrounding Redwoods and nearby Pacific Ocean, and opportunities to reflect on, explore and express the fullness of life in a space where all bodies and all beings are welcome.

During this 4-day retreat, we will:

... sweat, stretch, strengthen and restore our bodies with daily yoga (a balance of Vinyasa Flow, Slow Flow, Restorative, Yin and Yoga Nidra);

... ignite our courage and awaken our senses with a daily cold plunge in the almighty Pacific ocean and ground ourselves among the gentle giants of the surrounding Redwood Forest;

... delight our senses and fill our bellies with delicious and nutritious home-cooked meals by our very own personal chef;

... dance wildly and sing loudly, rest deeply and connect authentically with friends, both old and new;

... clear our minds and break free of the shackles of accumulated stress, feelings of isolation, and the layers of misunderstanding about who we are and why we are here;

... expand the capacity of our hearts to hold all the joy and all the sorrow, to belly laugh and ugly cry, and to reflect with childlike awe and wonder on the meaning of life;

... soak up the warmth of the autumn sun with deep reverence, and stargaze under the night sky while singing songs around the campfire or silently contemplating the vastness of the universe;

... experience ourselves as whole and be nourished - body and mind, heart and soul, individual and collective - in this magical and newly renovated retreat center tucked into the serene Redwoods and just 5 minutes from the Pacific Ocean.

About Spirit Camp

Spirit Camp is nestled in the enchanting redwoods on the Mendocino coast of Northern California, unceded territory of the Pomo people. Located a beautiful 2-3 hour drive North of the San Francisco Bay Area and 12 minutes to the town of Mendocino with organic grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. Only a mile inland from the Pacific Ocean, you can enjoy bluff-lined beaches, hike through redwood state parks, river canoe, and ocean kayak within minutes from camp.

The Land

The sunny meadows and gardens inspire presence and play.  Enjoy group meals amongst the hummingbirds and campfires under star-filled night skies. Follow the mile-long Fern Gully Trail Loop for a forest walk adventure. Pacific Coast beaches and more hiking trails within minutes.

The Sanctuary
The awe-inspiring Sanctuary is the gem of Spirit Camp. This serene space invites depth and deep exploration making it ideal for meditation, sound healing, small yoga groups, workshops, quiet reflection, tea and tarot.

The Lodge

The Lodge truly is the heart of Spirit Camp. The homey warmth of its redwood interiors invites a sense of belonging and childlike magic, making it a playful space for dance, movement, yoga, breathwork, workshops, and indoor dining.

Cabins
Cabins are newly renovated with oakwood floors and redwood furnishings. Soft cotton sheets, linen duvet bedding, and space heaters are included in all retreat rentals. Communal bathrooms include showers with hot water.

Camping + Glamping

Sunset Meadow surrounded by Redwoods offers flat, grassy space for guests to pitch their own tents OR set up glamping structures rented from a 3rd party (can be arranged for you upon request). Guests who bring their own tent and camping gear are recommended to bring a tarp and fly cover  as mornings can be dewy.

Amenities

Access to JBL sound system with mixer, AUX cord and iphone cord, disco ball, hue lighting, upright piano, board games, small library, floor chairs, couches, wood burning stove, and indoor dining tables.

Coastal Weather

Looking for retreat spaces that have temperate weather year-round? The Mendocino coast is perfect! Dress warm and cozy. Bring layers. This ain’t L.A. ;)

Please note: High coastal humidity can make it feel cooler than the temp reads. Be sure to bring layers for outdoor activities!

Camp Customs

To create a healing, sacred space where authentic and playful connection can emerge amongst guests, we ask all visitors to honor and observe the following during their time at Spirit Camp:

  • Spirit Camp is a substance-free space.  Mind altering substances are not permitted on property.
  • Our camp kitchen is a vegetarian facility. The cooking of any animal products in our kitchen is not permitted, which includes meat and fish. Dairy and eggs are okay.
  • The property is a non-smoking space. Smoking is not permitted in or around any of our buildings or trees on the property.
  • Please leave your furry friends at home. Because of pet allergies, sensitive environment and wildlife, we have a no-pet policy, except for trained service animals or dogs invited for a playdate with the camp dog, Disco Wizard.
