The Route-(toughest day, 26 miles/42k) Marlay Park Dublin to Roundwood
Winding away from Dublin with views of Dublin Bay behind you, you cross Glencullen River into the forest of the same name. From here the aspect is generally up, walking through shaded woods and forest paths and along rivers and their Mass paths which once permitted cartless folk to walk places and for children to get to school. From Knocktree Hill you wind your way through a deer park. Coming down off White Hill, Towards Lough Tay, the views are spectacular. There are Mountain bike trails criss-crossing everywhere here. Dinner at The Coach House. Taxi/bus to Glendalough, where you will stay at the hostel.
