About this trip

Welcome to Wild + Free

A Mother + Child Equine Immersion

Costa Rica • January 2027

An invitation to step away from the pace of everyday life...

and into a slower, more intentional rhythm of connection.

After the fullness of the holiday season...when routines return and so much energy has been poured into everyone else, January offers a quiet invitation to begin again.

Nestled in the Costa Rican highlands, Wild + Free is an intimate five-day equine immersion for just five mothers and their children.

Here, the days aren't measured by busy schedules.

They're shaped by horses, nature, wonder, and the quiet moments that matter most.

Each morning begins with Morning Wonder, where children explore the barn through Wonder Club while mothers are invited to begin the day in whatever way they need...yoga, journaling, coffee, or simply stillness.

The horses become our teachers.

Children learn that every ride begins and ends with caring for the horse.

Mothers discover how horses gently invite us back to presence, trust, and ourselves.

Together, we'll share meaningful conversations, family adventures, nourishing meals, and a daily Sacred Pause...time to rest, reflect, or simply do nothing at all.

This isn't a vacation.

It isn't another itinerary to keep up with.

It's an invitation to remember:

To remember yourself.

To remember your child.

To remember what it feels like to live a little more wild...

and a little more free.

The Experience

Each day unfolds in a gentle rhythm, guided by the horses, the land, and the wisdom of slowing down.

Morning Wonder

Children begin each day at the barn through Wonder Club while mothers choose what they need most...optional yoga, journaling, coffee/tea, or simply a quiet moment to themselves.

Horse Partnership

Mothers and children each experience their own unique journey with the horses, where partnership is built through trust, presence, and care.

Remembering

While children are with the horses, mothers gather for guided workshops designed to reconnect them with themselves through reflection, conversation, and community.

Sacred Pause

Afternoons invite spaciousness. Swim, rest in a hammock, journal, enjoy an optional massage, or simply savor unhurried time with your child.

Afternoon Gathering

Fresh tropical fruit, refreshments + conversation bring everyone back together before shared dinners, evening connection, and another beautiful day comes to a close.

During the retreat, we'll also enjoy a shared visit to nearby natural hot springs...a chance to soak, relax, and celebrate our time together.

A gentle rhythm of horses, wonder, and remembering what matters most.

What You'll Leave With

While every family's experience is unique, many leave with...

For Mothers

  • More presence and less pressure.

  • A renewed connection with yourself.

  • Time to simply rest without feeling guilty.

  • A deeper understanding of how horses mirror trust, boundaries, and authentic leadership.

  • Friendships with women who value a slower, more intentional way of living.

For Children

  • Confidence built through caring for horses, not just riding them.

  • Greater independence through Wonder Club and meaningful responsibility.

  • New friendships rooted in shared adventure.

  • Memories that last far beyond the retreat.

Together

  • More laughter than logistics.

  • Shared adventures instead of busy schedules.

  • A rhythm you'll want to bring home.

  • A relationship strengthened by presence, play, and time together.

Sometimes the greatest gift isn't learning something new.

It's remembering what has always mattered most.

Meet The Woman Holding This Experience

Wild + Free is held by a small team of women who share a deep respect for horses, nature, and the transformative power of slowing down.

Together, we create a space where mothers and children feel supported, seen, and free to simply be.

Isa: Founder of Finca Soley, Renowned Horsewoman & Equine Guide

Recognized internationally for her work in empathetic horsemanship, liberty training, and classical dressage, Isa has dedicated her life to helping both horses and humans thrive through relationship rather than force.

Equestrians and students travel from around the world to study with Isa, drawn to her unique approach where trust, communication, and partnership are always at the heart of every interaction.

Throughout the retreat, mothers and children experience horses not simply as animals to ride, but as partners, teachers, and trusted companions. Under Isa's gentle guidance, every interaction-from grooming and groundwork to riding and caring for the horses- becomes an invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and discover that every ride begins and ends with caring for the horse.

Jordan: Founder of Wild + Free & Aishling Forest School

Jordan created Wild + Free from a belief that mothers and children deserve space to slow down, reconnect, and remember what matters most.

She guides Morning Wonder and Wonder Club, leads the Remembering workshops for mothers, and thoughtfully weaves each day together...from the quiet beginnings of the morning to the spaciousness of Sacred Pause.

Her hope is that every family leaves feeling more connected to themselves, to one another, and to the natural world.

Analia: Yoga & Mindfulness Guide

Each morning, Analía offers an optional yoga practice designed to gently awaken the body and quiet the mind.

Through movement, breath, and presence, she invites mothers to begin each day feeling grounded, restored, and deeply connected to themselves.

The Land + Horses

Nestled in the Costa Rican highlands, Wild + Free unfolds among rolling pastures, fresh mountain air, and a landscape that naturally invites you to slow down.

Here, the horses live in harmony with the land.

They are not used.

They are met.

Guided by Isa's relationship-centered approach, every experience with the horses is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and mutual respect.

Children build confidence through riding, grooming, and caring for the horses.

Mothers discover the quiet wisdom of the herd- finding moments of presence, reflection, and reconnection.

It's a different way of learning.

A different way of leading.

A different way of being.

Rider Guidelines

  • Maximum rider weight: 170 lbs (77 kg)

  • Beginner rider weight limit: 154 lbs (70 kg)

Is Wild + Free Right for Your Family?

Trust: Learning the Language of Horses

Today, we begin settling into the gentle rhythm of Wild + Free.

Morning

The day begins with Morning Wonder.

While children gather at the barn for Wonder Club (caring for horses, exploring nature, and beginning the day through curiosity and play) mothers are invited to choose what they need most. Join an optional yoga practice, sip coffee while it's still hot, journal beneath the trees, or simply enjoy a quiet moment to yourself.

After breakfast, mothers step into their first Horse Partnership experience with Isa while children continue their morning of wonder.

As the children transition into their own horse experience, mothers gather for our first Remembering Workshop...a space for reflection, conversation, and reconnecting with themselves.

Afternoon

Following a shared farm-to-table lunch, the pace softens.

Children reunite with their mothers for Wild + Free Family Time...an invitation to swim, play, explore the farm, visit the horses, or simply enjoy being together.

Our daily Afternoon Gathering brings everyone back together over fresh tropical fruit, homemade treats, and conversation before another relaxed evening unfolds.

Evening

As the sun begins to set over the mountains, we'll gather for another nourishing dinner, sharing stories from the day before settling into a peaceful evening under the Costa Rican sky.

Today is about learning to trust the horses, trust the rhythm, and trust yourself.

Day 3

Day 3 image

Remember: Coming Home to Yourself

As the rhythm of the retreat settles in, space begins to open...for deeper connection, quieter reflection, and meaningful moments with the horses.

Morning

The day begins once again with Morning Wonder.

Children head to the barn for Wonder Club while mothers are invited to begin the morning with optional yoga, quiet reflection, or a peaceful cup of coffee.

After breakfast, mothers continue their Horse Partnership journey with Isa, deepening the trust and connection built the day before.

While children enjoy their own horse experience, mothers gather for our Breathwork & Remembering Workshop (an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with the body, and integrate the insights of the retreat)

Afternoon

After a shared lunch, the afternoon invites spaciousness through Sacred Pause:

Rest in a hammock.

Swim beneath the tropical sky.

Journal.

Or simply enjoy being present with your child.

As the afternoon light begins to soften, families reunite for one of the most memorable experiences of the retreat—a Golden Hour Family Horse Experience.

Together, you'll spend intentional time with the horses our photographer captures authentic moments of connection, creating beautiful keepsakes to remember your Wild + Free journey.

Evening

We gather once more for a nourishing dinner, sharing stories and reflecting on the day's experiences as the mountains settle into evening.

Day 4

Celebrate: A Day to Soak It All In

Today is about celebration...of new friendships, meaningful moments, and the memories created throughout our week together.

Morning

After breakfast, we'll venture beyond the farm for a day at one of Costa Rica's beautiful natural hot springs.

Soak in the warm mineral waters, explore the surrounding gardens, and enjoy unhurried time together as families. It's a chance to relax, play, and simply enjoy the beauty of being present.

Afternoon

Returning to the farm, the rhythm softens once again.

Take time to rest, swim, journal, or enjoy Wild + Free Family Time before gathering for fresh tropical fruit, homemade treats, and conversation during our daily Afternoon Gathering.

Evening

As the sun sets on our final evening together, we'll share a special Celebration Dinner followed by our Closing Ceremony.

Together, we'll honor the courage, growth, and connections that have unfolded throughout the week...and celebrate the women and children who have become part of the Wild + Free community.

Day 5

Day 5 image

Return: Taking the Rhythm Home

As our time together comes to a close, we take one final morning to slow down, reconnect, and savor the relationships we've built...with ourselves, our children, the horses, and one another.

Morning

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before returning to the barn for one final horse experience. Spend time grooming, connecting, or simply saying goodbye to the horses who have been such important teachers throughout the week.

We'll gather one last time for our Closing Circle, reflecting on the journey we've shared and the intentions we hope to carry home.

Afternoon

After a farewell lunch, we'll begin our journey back to San José for airport departures.

While the retreat may be coming to an end, our hope is that the rhythm you've experienced here...the wonder, the partnership, the pauses, and the moments of connection continues long after you return home.
