Join Sanctuary Yoga and The Truffle Journal on the tropical island of Nusa Penida as you discover and flow with the five elements of "Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether" both within and around you. Daily elemental based yoga classes comprised of different styles of yoga together with inspiring workshops about nutrition, connecting to self and healing through food.
This deeply transformative retreat will allow you to disconnect completely and tune in to your bodies rhythm fing new balance as we release all that which does not serve us.
Enjoying 2 yoga sessions a day in the style of either Hatha, Vinyasa or Yin as well as meditation and pranayana (breathwork). You will experience different practices that can aid bring balance to all areas in our lives.
All meals are healthy and plant based, prepared in the restaurant by local chefs. Some ingredients are source from the land around and the hotel vegetable garden.
During your stay we will also visit beautiful locations around the island taking in its wild magnificent beauty. On land and at sea Nusa Penida boasts picturesque beauty.
FOOD:
As both of the retreat leaders are big foodies and chefs, the food will be a big part of the retreat. The Truffle Journal is a best selling cookbook Author with Penguin Random House and will be sharing recipes from whole-bowl food for balance in collaboration with cordon bleu chef Sanctuary Yoga.
The menu for the week is mainly plant-based centered around high vibrational food. The venue itself boasts many edible plants in and around the cottages as well as veggie patches. We will be using fresh from the garden, and produce grown around the island as much as possible to create sublime dishes from heartwarming curries to bright fresh smoothies. You can expect smoothie and salad bars, as well as decadent raw chocolate treats, to tickle the taste buds.
Special dietary requirements should be confirmed during booking. We will be creating dishes that will mirror the chakras and the elements you will be working with on the day. Please bear in mind that you are in a remote location and that specialties need to be accounted before booking confirmation can be made.

Gizelle Kennel-
South African born, Gizelle is based in Indonesia where she teaches regularly. Her journey to yoga began at an early age through a love of dance & movement. Enjoying the physical release & benefits, it was not until years later that she went through a period of self-discovery & felt the energetic & emotional connection. Deepening her understanding, Gizelle travelled to study with spiritual teachers in both Thailand & India. Her classes are infused with Pranayama (breathing) & meditation. Both transformative techniques to bring about energetic change & help manifest ones life purpose.

COTTAGES
The beautiful cottages are set seamlessly integrated between the original vegetation of the hills and the Resort’s gardens along Ginger, Mint, Rosemary and Serai Roads.
Private large open air bathrooms have you showering under the stars and in the forrest. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds. There is free wifi in the resort and in your cottage. All cottages have fans. Airconed room is available on request.
