Over the next twelve days, you’ll dive deep into hands-on learning and clinical practice.
Mornings are spent alongside the wildlife veterinarian participating in clinical rounds, annual health exams of resident animals, and intake procedures for any new rescue cases. You’ll develop practical skills in safe animal handling and capture techniques.
Midday workshops and labs will expand your expertise with training in injection sites, sample collection, distance immobilization, suturing, necropsy, radiography, parasitology, and blood analysis.
A highlight includes a visit to the iguana rehabilitation centre to learn about reptile medicine firsthand.
Afternoons are dedicated to engaging theoretical sessions and case-based discussions exploring wildlife medicine, One Health, conservation, and the veterinarian’s critical role in protecting biodiversity.
You’ll build a strong foundation in natural history, anatomy, physiology, anesthesia, zoonosis, and rehabilitation methods.
Clinical practice opportunities abound, including assisting with surgeries, anesthesia, treatments, diagnostics, dose calculations, and therapy design.
Evenings offer time for reflection, group discussions, and optional cultural or night activities, rounding out a comprehensive and inspiring learning experience.
