What a peaceful experience, crisp dry but clear day. Great guide and very interesting food. Would highly recommend

I'm so glad I found this excellent company to help me get out into the wilds of Nuuk (well, up a local hill in the ice, but it seemed wild enough to me!). tl;dr - I throughly recommend the trip specifically and Two Ravens in general. Go with them, you'll have a great time. Thorlak guided us at every stage in planning how to enjoy ourselves during our time in Nuuk. He gave us great communication, sound ideas for what would be available and he was perfectly open with us that we were travelling at a quiet time of year (early February) so would probably end up having to pay for a private tour for the two of us travellers - the website prices start with a minimum of three. We were fine with that, and it was good that it wasn't a last-minute shock that no one else would join. There were plenty of options for fun - we chose the least-strenuous because we are two out-of-shape Brits nearing 50 years old and are both fairly inexperienced in the frozen wilderness. On the day Ella was our guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with her - she was knowledgable, patient, gently encouraging and great company for a few hours in the cold. And she brought jammy dodger biscuits, which is a plus in any situation. She also explained that Greenlanders don't take themselves too seriously, and like to laugh when people slip over. So we were only too pleased to keep her entertained... The conditions seemed tricky to me - we walked in ice spikes rather than showshoes because of a lack of snow this year. But we got round safely and didn't break any bones, cameras or speed records. Talking of cameras, it's one of the most picturesque places I've been to on earth, so make sure you pause, look up and appreciate it. We had a great time with plenty of laughter. I even like that my legs still ache back in London four days later. It reminds me of a fantastic trip.

Hi Tom, Thanks a lot for your kind words! It was my pleasure having you on tour—never a dull moment with you two! 😊 I appreciate your effort, good vibes - and the entertainment ;). I hope you caught the northern lights later that evening! Take care and safe travels on your journey to your next Arctic adventure! All the best, Ella

A huge thank you to Two Ravens for an incredibly strong and relevant Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course in Nuuk. The 10 days were intense in the best possible way — full of hands-on scenarios, clear progression, and a high level of professionalism perfectly tailored to the realities of Greenland. This course provides concrete tools to act safely and effectively when help may be far away — and that truly makes a difference for volunteers, professionals, and anyone spending time outdoors. I sincerely hope this marks the beginning of an annual WFR course in Greenland — and I can wholeheartedly recommend that everyone up here takes it.

This was a first class hiking experience. Thorlak Nielsen was an extraordinary hiking guide with impeccable judgement, extraordinary knowledge and experience. Great personality and kindness. A great ambassador for Americans to see the authentic Greenland.
