The William Seymour Foundation, in partnership with Black Joy Global Travel, invites you on the Black History of the South Tour, a 9-day journey through the faith, courage, culture, and legacy of the Black American experience.

From worship at historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta to the powerful Civil Rights landmarks of Montgomery, Memphis, Birmingham, and Greensboro, this journey goes beyond simply visiting historic sites. We will experience the places where ordinary people made extraordinary sacrifices, hear the stories behind the movement, celebrate Black culture and community, and reflect on how their legacy continues to shape our lives today.

Traveling together by private motorcoach from Washington, DC, our group will journey through Atlanta, Montgomery, Memphis, Birmingham, and Greensboro before returning home. Along the way, we'll visit renowned museums and historic sites, enjoy guided experiences, dine together, and intentionally build in time for fellowship, reflection, and rest.

This is more than a vacation.

It is a journey through our history. A celebration of our resilience. And an opportunity to carry the lessons of the past into the future.

Due to the advance financial commitments required to operate The Road to Freedom: A Black History Journey Through the South, all payments made toward this tour are non-refundable.

Black Joy Global Travel makes advance payments and financial commitments to hotels, transportation providers, attractions, restaurants, guides, and other vendors based on traveler registrations. For this reason, we are unable to provide refunds if a traveler cancels or is unable to attend.

Travel Insurance Is Strongly Recommended

We strongly encourage every traveler to purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes trip cancellation and trip interruption coverage as soon as possible after booking.

Depending on the policy purchased and the circumstances of the cancellation, travel insurance may provide coverage for certain unexpected events that prevent you from traveling. Coverage is determined solely by the insurance provider and the terms of the policy purchased. Black Joy Global Travel cannot guarantee that any particular claim will be covered.

Purchasing travel insurance does not change Black Joy Global Travel's cancellation policy. All payments to Black Joy Global Travel remain non-refundable regardless of whether a traveler purchases insurance or whether an insurance claim is approved or denied.
