The workshops were great and I met a lot of lovely people. The shop visits were also a highlight. Islandwood is as lovely as ever, the food was fabulous. I came away spoiled by having their staff do the cooking for 3 days. The only suggestion I have would be to have more support staff at the beginning when people are checking in to meet and greet, connect roommates, and direct traffic flow. I was given the wrong room key at check in but didn't discover it until late in the evening when everyone was turning in for the night. I was shuffled to 3 rooms. My final roommate was extremely unwelcoming and angry, wouldn't open the door and then didn't want to let me in. Her behavior towards me stayed this way for the whole time we were there. I spent minimal time in the room. It was not a comfortable or safe place to be. This was not the person who I had been introduced to via email prior to the event and I'm not sure why we ended up as roommates in the end. It was an uncomfortable situation that remained for the entire retreat. The organizers were aware and apologized the first morning. I was also able get the correct room key in the morning. I do think this is not a common experience, but it was unfortunate. In the end we are all responsible for our own good time and I did have a great time :) If I attend more events in the future I will try to arrange for a single room to avoid this type of hassle. Bainbridge Island and Islandwood are very special places for me and I look forward to returning. This was the only downside to a fun getaway in a very beautiful setting.

This was great! I felt like a kid again, spending time with other people just as passionate about fiber arts as I am. The classes were great, the people were great, the activities were great. Once in a lifetime experience I will treasure for many years to come.

It was an amazing retreat! Everything was wonderful: the location, the teachers, the hosts (Fiona and Amanda), the classes, the food, the yarn store field trip, and the walk through the woods. Wonderful time and special memories! Thank you!

Overall, the retreat was a delight, meeting new and old friends, lovely venue, well organized and excellent food. Two exceptions were the somewhat chaotic check-in as it was at night and was pouring rain with no one to guide attendees where to park of they drove or to guide us to our lodging. The retreat was a good value save for the excessive "convenience" charges of WeTravel for handling payment.
