About this trip

Our Winter Walking Holiday offers a refreshing blend of gentle hiking and snowy exploration in Slovakia’s stunning winter landscapes. All walks are at easy to moderate difficulty, making them perfect for leisurely walkers, nature lovers, and anyone looking to enjoy winter trails without technical challenges.

Staying at lower altitudes, you'll take in peaceful forests, snow-covered valleys, and crisp mountain air — all at a comfortable pace. This is a centre-based, guided holiday, so you can settle in and enjoy each day without the need to move accommodation.

To make your trip even more memorable, you’ll have the chance to take part in optional winter activities, such as snowshoeing, sledging, husky rides, or relaxing in a thermal water park and spa.

Fitness & Suitability

This holiday is designed for active travellers with a moderate level of fitness who enjoy walking outdoors in winter conditions. While no technical hiking experience is required, you should be comfortable walking for 4–6 hours each day on uneven terrain, including snow-covered and occasionally icy paths. This trip is not suitable for beginners.

Winter weather can make even gentle trails more physically demanding than summer walks, so a reasonable level of stamina, balance and mobility is important. The pace is relaxed, with regular breaks to enjoy the scenery, but participants should be able to complete the daily walks as part of the group.

Please read the full day-by-day itinerary before booking, as it includes further information about the walking routes, daily activities, kit requirements and what to expect throughout the holiday. If you are unsure whether this trip is suitable for your fitness level or experience, we encourage you to contact us before booking—we're always happy to help you choose the right adventure.

About your organizer

Most of our trips are concentrated around Tatra Mountains and surrounding national parks (Slovakia has 9 of them!). Tatra Mountains are known as the smallest alpine mountains in Europe which are situated in the north of the country, also shared with Poland. Slovakia is a perfect holiday destination for adventure seekers, outdoor enthusiasts, mountain and nature lovers. Slovakian national parks are a reflection of true paradise for hikers and walkers, and make an ideal destination for wellness retreats, too!
