A Holiday-themed Jiu Jitsu Camp might be just what you always wanted for Christmas! Treat yourself, or be a good gal and ask Santa for a trip to our Winter Wonderland. Envision cozy sweaters and wool socks, warm hot chocolate with whipped cream, holiday shopping, hot outdoor jacuzzi tub, Ugly Christmas Sweaters, Gift Exchange, Holiday Rash Guard and more!

We are pretty confident that this might be our most amazing camp yet!

Whether you are a lover of winter, or despise the cold, this is an opportunity to quite literally enjoy everything that the winter has to offer in terms of amazing outdoor activities and bucket list items.

Bob Sled Experience

Dog Sledding

Ice Skating in the Olympic Oval

Snowmobiling

Getting there: If you are traveling from outside of New York State, please book flights into Syracuse. Car pools will be leaving from this location. You will be picked up from the airport and accommodated from your moment of arrival. Arriving the night before will be ideal, and we will work to put you up at one of our houses. It is a 4 hour drive from Syracuse, NY

Accommodations are in an AIBNB that we will all be sharing located right in downtown Lake Placid. This house sleeps over 20 people. Please see add-ons for special requests for your accommodations. The exact location is provided one month prior for safety reasons.

***Please note, most of the time our campers share rooms, and sometimes beds. If you require your own bed, you may reserve one in add-ons.

Food: All food is included in the cost of camp. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Dessert and Snacks. We offer a variety of protein, vegetarian and vegan options. However, we do ask campers if they have very specific dietary needs to bring what they require. Additionally, we may ask campers to bring dishes to pass, or cookies to exchange for the party.

Busy Day of Training and Excursions! Dog & Bob Sledding
Following our morning training session and breakfast, we will depart for our afternoon of excursions. First up is the Lake Placid Bob Sledding Experience followed by Dog Sledding and lunch in Downtown Lake Placid. Following lunch there will be Evening training with optional ICE plunge & Jacuzzi experience to follow. Ugly Christmas Sweater Party in the evening.

Snowmobiling & Ice Skating
Morning training session and breakfast, then off to tackle the trails of Lake Placid on our group snowmobile tour! Then its back to the house to relax and soak in the hot tub. Massages on site are available for private booking. In the afternoon, after relaxation and naps, we will head off to the Olympic Oval for some ice skating & viewing of the great ice castle. Evening training session. Pajama party and games to end the evening inclusive of the White Elephant Gift Exchange.

The Back to the 80s Grappling Getaways was an amazing weekend filled with awesome training sessions, fun excursions in the Lake George area, an incredible lakeside house, and an amazing, welcoming, group of women! From the location, to the food, and training in the pavilion to all the thoughtful 80s themed goodies, gifts and treats, April and Katie went above and beyond. I was hesitant about joining this weekend adventure, especially as a fairly new white belt. I can’t express what an amazing experience this was for me and I can’t wait to be able to join another Grappling Getaways! You ladies rock!!

What a weekend!!! The accomodations were fabulous! Coffee on the dock with the light fog rolling in was just one of the many highlights of this trip. Everyone was friendly, outgoing, and our host Katie and April made sure everyone felt welcomed and included! The 80s theme was fantastic and everything was decorated so well. We even got swag bags :) The training was also amazing. I learned new moves and new tweaks to moves that I had been doing for years. There is so much more I can say about this wonderful weekend! I feel energized about my jui jitsu again and have a whole new group of friends. So happy I got outside of box and joined this EPIC weekend!

Where do I even begin again? Well this is my 5th camp and I am absolutely obsessed hence why I keep coming back. To the beautiful accommodation on the lake, training sessions at the pavillion, 80s themed party, excursions, food options, and all of the amazing campers made the trip for me. I'm blessed to have found such strong and fun women who are now my friends that share the same passion as me when it comes to jiu-jitsu. I'm still on cloud 9 from this weekend and looking forward to the next camp. ❤️

This was my first getaway and it won’t be my last. This trip, these people and this experience was something my soul needed. I made lifelong friends, learned some killer techniques while vacationing in paradise. I got solid life advice for things I’m struggling w in my own business. Seeing such strong, powerful women be so down to earth and welcoming and loving just makes feel so grateful I made the trip….. next trip will be Mexico. See you soon Coaches!!!!

Highly recommend!! I've attended 3 amazing Grappling Getaway camps so far (and plan on attending many more) and each time is unique and awesome! April and Katie are exceptional women who truly love what they do! I appreciate so much the time and effort they take to connect with female struggles both on and off the mats, makes these camps unmatchable. Their attention to every detail, coupled with their incredible ability to just go with the flow, makes being in their presence an authentic jiu jitsu experience. They create such a welcoming, fun, and empowering experience, where friendships are seeded and your jiu jitsu grows! If you're wanting to feel empowered by strong women with great attitudes and open minds, you should DEFINITELY get to a Grappling Getaway ASAP!

April, and the other instructors with Grappling Getaways are THE BEST. Top notch human beings who are amazing at jiu jitsu and amazing at teaching. I’ve been to 3 Grappling Getaways events, and each has been so much fun, so inviting, encouraging, and appropriately challenging for what was advertised. I’ve met so many incredible female leaders and role models through Grappling Getaways. HIGHLY recommended :)
