About this trip

Join Alma Retreats, www.myalmaretreats.com, and Kevin Lamb for our 4th year down in Nicaragua. This time the magic will take place on Little Corn Island, a small island off the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua where time slows down and the beautiful turquoise sea and warm coconut bread nourish your mind, body and spirit.

From start to finish this retreat will change you. To say nothing of the peace and energy felt in gorgeous Nicaragua you will be invited to experience the country on a level that mirrors the intimacy we find on our mats: deep connection with local community from our guides to farmers, delicious and nourishing food, exciting adventure. The love I have come to feel for this country is both magical and unique, and something that I now know that not only do I crave but I need. This week will both inspire and surprise, guaranteed. I cannot predict how it will change me again this year but transformation is guaranteed. I am both honored and excited to share this great love with all of you.

After a 5 year yoga practice in New York City I felt things begin to shift inside. with each shift, came the ability to hear my own voice, to what i wanted most, THE chance to be the person i felt like on my mat and the person i felt like when i traveled: alive, free, inspired, relaxed and at peace. Prior to an overworked life in NYC, i had traveled the world AND takEN roads less traveled. one such road led me to a homestay in the highlands of Nicaragua where a friend had an unexpected allergic reaction to a bug bite. With no buses for 2 days, the family made it their mission to locate a pick up truck, get us back to the city and care for my friend. Over that time, we shared coffee and tortillas and got a glimpse into another life. That trip became the first of many and the beginning of a relationship with Jane at Cafe Luz and the projects she supports, more specifically, EL LIBRO VOLADOR. EL LIBRO VOLADOR brings books and materials to remote communities in the highlands of Nicaragua. Fast Forward 4 years, over 12 retreats down in Nicaragua, thousands of dollars raised for El Libro Volador, hundreds of hours on the mat in some of the most breathtaking places in the world, Alma Retreats came to be more than it sought out to be. Alma Retreats is a collaboration of teachers, healers, nurterers, and creators committed to a practice of open heartedness, gratitude, and self discovery. Alma retreats offers retreats and something more. we are about local relationships and ethical travel. we provide week long opportunities to unplug, to be that person you are on your mat, the person you are when you travel: free, alive, relaxed, at peace...at home. Join us and see for yourself! ABRAZOS, STACEY CLARK FOUNDER/ OWNER OF ALMA RETREATS Yoga Teacher, writer, founder and owner of Alma Retreats, Stacey has spent the last decade practicing and learning yoga. She found her place on the mat as a place where she could catch her breath and dance around, following that dance down to Nicaragua. Since, the yoga mat has become a place for finding freedom, breath, release and healing. Stacey’s classes are infused with inspiration, nourishment and creativity and encourage the chance to hear one's voice, allowing it to affect the present and future. Stacey is an RYT 200 Teacher certified with Yatra Yoga. She received her Yin Teacher Certification with Ishta Yoga and is currently enrolled in the 300 Hour Advanced Teacher Certification with Integrative Yoga focusing on overall well being. . These days she happily calls Brooklyn home and Nicaragua her home away from home.
