About this trip

Experience the thrill of driving your own sled team of Husky dogs in northern Wisconsin! Dip through snowy valleys, and wind through woodland trails in the wake of wagging tails, flapping tongues, and pure joy.

Ladies, take a trek up to Northern Wisconsin for an extended weekend of outdoor winter adventures on the snowy coast of the mighty Lake Superior.  You will feel like an artic explorer as we discover the Northwoods by dogsled and snowshoes.

"This is the real deal! " -- That what our partners have to say about their dogsledding tours.

Their woman-owned and operated kennel is comprised of 42 Seppala Siberian Huskies which are direct descendants of Togo and Balto who helped deliver the life saving serum to the children of Nome during the outbreak of Diptheria in 1925.

From start to finish, participants will be involved in all stages of mushing. Every trip begins with participants meeting each dog and learning about them.   Then, your guides will teach you how to harness dogs and hook up the teams. Once everyone, and every dog is ready, we head out on some of the most beautiful forested trails in Northern Wisconsin.

Not just a walk in the woods.

Led by a local naturalist and guide, participants will take on two totally different worlds by snowshoe. An introductory forest hike at sunset will immerse you into a wintery. On a separate adventure, participants will walk three miles on frozen lake ice to secluded ice caves. Ice caves are formed by ground water that becomes frozen when it comes into contact with cold air. As the water is pulled through the sediment it forms crystals of varying shapes and colors. Please note, Lake Superior Ice is dynamic. If the conditions become unsafe for walking on the ice to the ice caves, an alternate hike will be planned.

Who should sign up?

The trip is open to women ages 18 and older. Anyone in good health, and who is moderately active can enjoy the activities listed on the itinerary.   Dog sledding can be done by nearly anyone.  Snowshoeing is 3-4 hours, over level terrain, and 2-3 hours over rolling terrain at a moderate workout level. Temperatures ranging from the low 30's to below zero. Windy conditions could create extreme cold depending on wind direction. Please view the packing list below and come prepared to spend time outside in the cold.

Absolutely magical, every single day! We saw more wildlife than I could have dreamed, the guides were incredible, the accommodations fantastic. There is no way I could have planned such a complete Ugandan experience in my own. I will happily travel with GreenEd again!

It was an amazing trip for our daughter. The activities were great, lodging perfect for her group and she enjoyed the food. Green Edventures did a really good job rescheduling our trip and dealing with the COVID restrictions.

Sam thank you so much for the kind words. That thanks also goes to parents like you that support these trips and who trust our team to provide extraordinary educational tours for students. (Tara)
The Baja Sur Mexico adventure was a once in a lifetime opportunity that I would strongly recommend for anyone. The crew and guides are wonderful at what they do. They are very knowledgeable and yet have the best personalities. The chefs made delicious meals 3 times a day and the restaurants we went to were clean and great too. The entire trip we felt safe and secure. I read every review about the trip ahead of time and they are all accurate. That is why Green Edventures is a 5 star!

I just returned from the Wisconsin Women's Tour and couldn't have asked for a better trip! For me, the amount and type of activity were perfect. Who know there was so much to discover practically in my own backyard?
