Rowleys Bay, Door County, is a community within the town Liberty Grove, sits on the edge of the Mink River Estuary, one of Wisconsin’s most diverse and important wildlife habitats. This makes Rowleys Bay a phenomenal location for hiking, kayaking, fishing, and birding, which may be why Fodor’s named it one of the 500 places to see before they disappear.
Paddling activities in nature gives us the opportunity to slow down, and refocus on the moment. So often the mind is crammed with thoughts or stresses that we miss what’s happening directly in front of us and consequently life itself. To be in the present moment, with a centered state of mind, is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself and those around you.
On our kayaking and yoga weekend for women, we have combined paddling with mindfulness (yoga) to help participants focus on living in the moment, which improves mood, reduces stress and anxiety, and results in an overall greater enjoyment of each day.
Who should sign up?
The trip is open to women ages 18 and older. Anyone in good health, and who is moderately active can enjoy the activities listed on the itinerary. No previous kayaking experience is necessary.

After a fun afternoon on the water, experience a Door County tradition, a fishboil! Traditional fish boils are an integral part of Door County culture and have been one of the area’s most alluring tourist attractions for more than 70 years. The simplicity of the meal is enhanced by each boil master's own quirks and personal styles of boiling the fish, but in general, boilers use fresh-caught Lake Michigan whitefish and offer up Door County cherry pie to round out the meal, making this a truly authentic Door County experience.
