Step into Tanzania with Women in Wildlife & Wilde Tracks and experience purposeful travel that supports conservation, education, and community empowerment. This is more than a journey - it’s an active contribution to protecting biodiversity and uplifting local communities.

In partnership with the Mwema Children Center in Karatu, your participation helps support vulnerable children through education, skills development, and confidence-building programs that create pathways to brighter futures.

This immersive experience connects travellers with Tanzania’s wildlife while helping young people understand the importance of conservation and biodiversity. It also creates meaningful opportunities for women and youth through education and skills development.

Every journey contributes directly to wildlife protection and stronger communities.

Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

 

  • Airport Greeting: Warm reception upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport.
  • Transfer to Accommodation: Comfortable transportation provided to your accommodation in Arusha.
  • Orientation Session: Participate in an engaging briefing to outline your planned activities.
  • Welcome Dinner: Enjoy a delightful dinner to celebrate the start of your adventure and meet other guests.

Day 2

Exploring Maasai Culture

 

Early Morning Departure: Depart from your accommodation with transportation to Mto Wa Mbu to meet the Maasai women.

Immersive Cultural Experience: Immerse yourself in a full day of enriching activities with the organization dedicated to the empowerment of Maasai women. Discover the rich heritage and vibrant traditions of the Maasai through interactive storytelling and traditional crafts, offering a unique insight into their daily lives, cultural practices, and their initiatives towards independence.

Transfer to Karatu: After a tasty packed lunch under the shade of majestic baobab trees, we will set off towards Karatu. During the journey, you can enjoy spectacular panoramas of the African savannah and perhaps spot some wildlife. Upon arrival, you will visit the Mwema Children Center, where you will have the opportunity to:

  • Meet the Children: Get to know the young residents of the center, sharing moments of play and learning.
  • Meet the Experts: Meet the educators and specialists who will accompany you in the educational activities of the following days.
  • Introduction to the Activities: Receive an overview of the initiatives and projects you will contribute to, focused on education and community development.

Dinner and Overnight Stay: The day will conclude with a delicious dinner featuring typical local cuisine at a welcoming establishment in Karatu. You will have time to relax, share the experiences with other participants, and recharge your energies for the adventures that await you.

Day 3

Educational Activities with the Children

 

Educational Activities with the Children: Immerse yourself in teaching various subjects including English, mathematics, geography, and many others through interactive activities and educational games, helping the children develop new skills. Support the children in their studies by offering assistance with homework and encouraging learning in a stimulating environment.

Lunch at School with the Children: Share a traditional meal prepared at the center, experiencing a moment of conviviality and cultural exchange with the young students.

Recreational Afternoon: Participate in gardening activities, teaching the importance of nature and contributing to the creation of green spaces within the center.

Mobile School: Join the "mobile school" to reach children in the surrounding communities, bringing education and smiles where they are most needed.

Cooking Lessons: Discover local recipes together with the children, preparing typical dishes and sharing culinary traditions.

Recreational Activities: Organize games, art workshops, and sports activities to promote fun and the development of social skills.

Dinner and Overnight Stay at the Hotel: After a day rich in emotions, relax while enjoying a delicious dinner at your hotel. Enjoy an evening of relaxation and a comfortable overnight stay to recharge your energy.

Wildlife Educational Activities with the Children

 

Prepare to immerse yourself in three days filled with interactive and educational activities on wildlife conservation, together with the children of the Children Center and a team of experts. These days will offer you the opportunity to:

  • Promote environmental awareness and understanding of conservation: Participate in expert-led discussions and practical learning experiences conducted by a specialized team. You will delve into the challenges and strategies related to wildlife protection.
  • Sensory games about wildlife, storytelling, and Wildlife Club.
  • Visits to the Karatu market: Explore the lively local market together with the children, discovering typical products, crafts, and culinary traditions. This experience will enrich your understanding of the local culture and support the community economy.
  • Daily outings with the children: Participate in excursions and outdoor activities, creating meaningful bonds and promoting learning in a natural context. These outings will offer opportunities to observe wildlife and apply the knowledge acquired in the field.

Exploring the Beauty of Ngorongoro Conservation Area with the Children


  •  A Day at Ngorongoro Conservation Area: Embark on an incredible  journey with the children to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where hands-on learning comes alive amidst one of the world’s most stunning ecological havens. Explore diverse habitats and engage in educational activities designed to foster a deeper appreciation for wildlife conservation.
  • Lunch in the Wild: Enjoy a delicious, specially-prepared lunch amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the park. Relax and refuel under the expansive African sky, surrounded by the natural beauty of Ngorongoro.
  • Farewell Celebration: Conclude your day with a heartwarming farewell party at the Mwema Children Center. Celebrate the memories made and friendships formed during your time together with music, dance, and shared stories—a fitting end to a day of discovery and learning.

Serengeti Safari Adventure: Encounter the Big Five

 

  • Early Morning Departure: Begin your day with an early pickup from your accommodation in Karatu, setting out on a scenic drive towards the Southern Serengeti—an area renowned for its spectacular wildlife and untouched landscapes.
  • Full-Day Game Drive: Immerse yourself in the wild as you journey through the vast plains of the Serengeti on a full-day game drive. With the expertise of our knowledgeable guides, seek out the iconic 'Big Five'—lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and buffalo—in their natural habitats. Experience the thrill of spotting these magnificent animals up close and learn about their behaviors and roles within the ecosystem.
  • Overnight in the Wild: As the sun sets, retreat to a tented camp nestled in the heart of the Serengeti. Relax under the stars and listen to the sounds of the African bush, providing an authentic and unforgettable overnight experience in one of the world's most celebrated wildernesses.

Day 9

Discovering Southern and Central Serengeti


  • Early Morning Awakening: Wake up with the dawn to soak in the serene beauty of the Serengeti and embark on a morning game drive. Relish the early morning light casting golden hues over the vast plains and watch as the wildlife awakens around you.
  • Half -day game drive: Traverse the diverse ecosystems of the Southern and central Serengeti, from sweeping savannahs to acacia-dotted landscapes. Keep your eyes peeled for any last glimpses of the park’s famed residents, capturing memories of these spectacular scenes.
  • Picnic Lunch in the Park: Midway through your journey, enjoy a picnic lunch provided by us in a picturesque location within the park
  • Transfer back to Karatu: spend the last night in Karatu before going back to Arusha

Last Day in Arusha

 

  • Transfer back to Arusha: After your adventure, enjoy a smooth and comfortable transfer back to Arusha . Arrive with ample time to prepare for your onward journey, with departures planned for flights scheduled after 2:00 PM.
