We will have a few get-to-know-you Zoom meetings to discuss essential Egypt Do's & Don'ts and other helpful information as our departure date approaches.
🔒 Is Egypt safe for solo female travelers?
Yes, especially when traveling in an organized, small group. Egypt is heavily invested in tourism safety, with dedicated tourist police at all major sites. Traveling with a curated group of women provides a built-in safety net, allowing you to enjoy the bucket-list sights with complete peace of mind.
🛂 Do I need a visa for Egypt, and how do I get it?
Most travelers (including US, UK, Canada, and EU citizens) require a tourist visa. You can easily purchase a 30-day single-entry Visa on Arrival directly at the Cairo airport for $25 USD in cash. Alternatively, you can apply for an official e-Visa online up to 7 days before departure.
👗 What is the dress code for women in Egypt?
While Egypt is a conservative country, tourist sites are very accustomed to travelers. Out of respect and for comfort, we recommend loose-fitting, breathable fabrics. Aim to keep your shoulders and knees covered when out in public (maxi dresses, linen pants, and t-shirts are perfect). A light scarf is also great to keep in your day bag for visiting mosques.
✈️ Which airport should I fly into, and are transfers included?
You will need to book your international flights into Cairo International Airport (CAI). To make your arrival completely stress-free, airport pickup on March 21 and drop-off on March 30 are fully included in the trip price, within the pick-up and drop-off time windows.
💵 What is the local currency, and should I bring cash?
The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). While credit cards are widely accepted in major hotels and shops, you will want to have cash for small souvenirs, street food, and tipping (which is a significant part of the culture in Egypt). You can easily pull local cash from airport or hotel ATMs upon arrival.
🛏️ Can I book a private room, or will I have a roommate?
Our base price is for double occupancy (sharing a room with another wonderful woman from our group). If you are traveling solo, we will happily pair you with a roommate! If you prefer a private room, please message me directly. Single-room upgrades are subject to hotel availability and priced at an additional fee. If local accommodations have availability, I will let you know.
