Over time, the jungle reclaimed the temples, with towering banyan trees and thick vegetation enveloping the stone structures, hiding them from the outside world for centuries. Angkor Wat remained largely unknown to the outside world until the 19th century when French explorer Henri Mouhot stumbled upon the site during his travels in Cambodia in 1860.

Start exploring Hanoi's Old Town in the company of English-speaking local - visit its remarkable historic sites - the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One-Pillar Pagoda, and the thousand-year-old Temple of Literature.
Then, feel adventurous and enjoy a Hanoi street food lunch: wander the labyrinth of streets, sampling pork crepes, fruit drinks, and Pho before ending with a visit to a café that’s one of Hanoi’s best-kept secrets.
In the afternoon, walk through the charming Hang Be Market Stop at Ta Hien Street to try the local beer. Then Take a breezy cycle ride through the Old Quarter’s 36 streets, named after the products sold in their shops.

After breakfast at the hotel, set on your journey to Halong Bay, driving through the rich farmland of the Red River Delta passing by rice fields where you will surely see water buffalos and Vietnamese village everyday life.
The driving time takes 3.5 hrs (180 km) on a paved road.
On arrival in Halong, we board a romantic-looking boat cruising among the inspirational islets of Halong Bay. Visit the natural wonders crafted by rock, wind, and water over a million years in the Cave of Marvels, and breathe in the panoramic view of the whole bay from the top of Titov Island. We also get on the bamboo boat into the quiet water of Luon Lagoon, looking for the mischievous monkeys up on the cliffs. Kayaking is optional to further explore Halong Bay.

On the next morning of Day 3. En route back to the shore, our boat weaves through strange-shaped rock formations, that resemble fighting roosters, dragons, and fairy tale characters in your imagination! Disembark around lunchtime and return to Hanoi for a flight to Siem Reap.

Angkor Wat is the apogee of classical Khmer architecture and has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on the national flag, and stands on par with such other monumental achievements as Machu Picchu in Peru and the Great Pyramid of Giza.
After breakfast this morning, we visit the Great City of Angkor Thom the Terraces of Elephant and Leper King, and especially the mysterious smiling Bayon.
Afternoon, we’ll continue exploring the epic temples of Angkor Wat - a vast rambling complex of diverse temple structures dating from the 9th to the 13th centuries. Many are adorned with exquisite carvings and bas-reliefs; some are so entwined with trees and vines that they almost returned to the jungle.
At sunset, a unique chance to see Angkor Archeological Complex from the sky. Take a 30-minute hot air balloon flight with a unique bird’s eye view over the Cambodian countryside, the Roluos and Bakong temple ruins, and enjoy the beautiful sunset.
Traditional dinner with Apsara dance show included.
On the next day we will drive through the beautiful countryside landscapes of Cambodia and explore more temples.
Optional add-on: Zipline fun
Zipline Adventure Park visit inside of the Angkor Wat archeological complex.
This activity takes about 2,5 hrs, and admission is USD 65 per person.
If you decide to do it, you should skip visiting one of the temples on this day.

In the morning, explore the Cambodian countryside by visiting the elephant forest sanctuary, meet elephants making rice balls for elephants feeding, and watch them play by the pond. Khmer-style lunch included.
(*Riding or bathing the elephants is not offered here as it's illegal in Cambodia nowadays)
In the afternoon we will get to know a traditional Floating Village on the “Great Lake” of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia. Exploring the rural life on the lake riding the wooden boat, you can see schools, restaurants, hospitals, fishing villages, a Crocodile Farm, and even more!

We begin this morning with a drive off the city to Cu Chi’s amazing tunnel system built by Communist guerillas during the Vietnam War. Known as the “Iron Triangle” during the war of the ’60s, the story of Cu Chi is one of struggle, determination against all odds, and eventual victory. Now the tunnels are a major site of interest for tourists, historians, and those interested in Vietnam’s military history.
