About this trip

 DAY 1. WHAT IS YIN YOGA


Yin yoga is a slow-paced therapeutic style of yoga. The Yin postures are more passive postures, mainly on the floor seated or lying down. There are no sun salutations, no warriors or planks, and no dynamic movements. 
There are two principles that differentiate a Yin yoga practice from our more active yoga styles, these are holding poses for a number of minutes which can be anything from 3 - 8 minutes, and stretching the connective tissue around a joint instead of focusing on the main muscles. The time spent within the poses, becomes an active meditation, as the mind shifts from yang to yin, from active to passive. 


Within this workshop, you will learn all the fundamentals of the Yin yoga style of yoga to promote the effective personal practice and deepen your Yin yoga experience. 

  • Learn what is Yin yoga, including its origin, connection to the meridian and fascia system. 
  • Understand our physical, emotional, and mental connectivity and all the main benefits of Yin yoga to evoke balance. 
  • Understand the fundamental 5 stages of the Yin yoga practice.
  • Learn why Yin yoga can be a  Bitter/Sweet practice and the physical/mental challenges. 
  • Understand the purpose of the rebound and physical, mental, and energetic benefits.  
  • Complete a full 90-minute full body deep stretch Yin yoga practice.
  • Feel confident to Incorporate the tools of Yin yoga to create balance and wellness.

DAY 2. MINDFUL YIN YOGA


Mindfulness Yin Yoga invites you to tune into your body and be kind to yourself. It is a path, a journey, not to get somewhere else, but to be where we are, as we are in this very moment. In Mindful Yin yoga, you are encouraged and invited to feel into all sensations of stretch and compression, as the body drops into the deeper tissues of the tendons, ligaments, fascia, and bones. As we stay within the reflective silences you can also become more aware of the deeper workings of your mind and emotional states building a connection of both body and mind. 

Within this workshop, we will explore all the fundamental theories behind Mindful Yin Yoga including all aspects of mindfulness, and how we can incorporate this theory into our Yin yoga physical practice to evoke an embodied experience of Yin yoga.


What we cover - 

  • Understand what is and what is not Mindfulness
  • Grasp all the benefits of a Mindful practice physically, emotionally, and to our mental health.
  • Grasp the 8 foundations to the Mindfulness practice
  • Understand the difference between Mindfulness and Meditation
  • Understand how we can bring elements of mindfulness into our physical Yin yoga practice
  • Learn and apply the sensory experience of movement and how to feel the inner experience of Yin yoga
  • Complete a 90 minute Mindful Yin yoga practice.

Yogia Dunia is a sweet little yoga studio on the beautiful Nusa Lembongan in Bali. The whole experience from beginning to end was easy to navigate with great communication from the management at Yogia Dunia. They arranged the accommodation which was perfectable adequate for the duration of the Week at the studio. I was in single accommodation only a few minutes walk from the studio and luckily had air conditioning as it was very hot in December! The small class numbers meant we had excellant "one on one" time and feedback from our teacher Claire Green (who is delilghtful and extremely knowledgable about Yin Yoga). It was a pleasant change to be away from the Large and more impersonal Yoga studios where you get lost in the numbers and I felt that we all benefited from this very personal experience, Overall I loved the course and would recommend it to anyone who is starting off the fabulous journey of YIN yoga.

Just finished a great Yin Teaching training with Claire Green at Dunia Yoga. The space was very relaxing and the staff were very helpful. We were fed yummy breakfasts each morning and Audrey was supportive with any needs. I highly recommend Claire for a complete Yin Yoga experience and the centre Dunia Yoga.

The YTT at Yoga Dunia was a fantastic experience. All of the team there are lovely, friendly and supportive and it was a fabulous environment for the course. The breakfasts were especially delicious with so much fresh tropical fruit - I've been missing them ever since! The emphasis on structural alignment has given me the confidence to teach knowing that my class are practising asanas safely which is really important for me. We also had a lot of teaching practice starting in the first week, which really helped to prepare us for the 'real' world. A fantastic experience and a great beginning to my journey as a yoga teacher - thank you so much.
