About this trip

I went to the yoga retreat 2021 and omg It was so nice arranged I can't believe how well Pilar did this with the amazing teacher Laruga. I highly recommend this even if beginner as they take care of you from scratch and all you really need is a positive mind and willingness to learn and you are to have the time of your life!!!

David and Jelena are amazing teachers! can’t recommend them more if you really want to deepen you ashtanga practice! they are really professional, passionate about yoga and teaching. and also with a great sense of humor. 

Pilar and her shala are a beautiful space to practice! if you are in mallorca don’t miss going to one of the classes. and if you can join the next workshop. 

One of my best yoga retreats! 
Fantastic teachers, fantastic place and food.
Everything was well organized, the group was very nice.
I highly recommend it.

Ashtanga Retreat with David & Jelena

The retreat was great. The teachers were excellent, the location wonderful and the food was delicious. There are some small improvements I would suggest:

1. The cleaning staff came one time, which is fine, but they didn't leave any extra toilet paper. One roll for an entire week for 2 people is pushing it.
2. The extra activity planned for Friday fell through, and the wine tasting organized instead felt rushed. For the price we paid, it would have been nice to have a private tour, and not have to run to catch the previous tour with strangers. The basement was also very small for two groups. The weather was still nice outside, but the tasting itself was in the basement. A bit more thought can be put into this for next time, including non alcoholic drinks for anyone who is sober.

It was one of the best vacations I have had. Mallorca, the people on the retreat and specially David and Jelena were superb. I would say there was a few problems: not enough food for everyone, cleaning could have been better and I would have liked more info on the accommodation before hand, for ex that the buildings were 5min walk apart and had shared bathrooms. The price was quite expencive, and the retreat felt otherwise luxurious so these small harms felt unnecessary. Overall it was a good experience and I have recommended this location to my yogifriends. 

Estoy muy agradecida por el hermoso retiro de yoga que tuvimos con David y Jelena. En lines generales estuvo todo muy bien;  el lugar es fantasticoy Montsee y Pilar siempre estuvieron predispuestas a ayudarnos en lo que necesitábamos. Y encima nos regalaron una hermosa tarde en barco !
Solo en algunos pequenios detalles sería bueno trabjar para los próximos eventos, particularmente en referido a la cantidad de comida (para la cena, en el desayuno siempre hubo en abundancia) y quizás los cuidados y necesidades de la Finca.

David & Jelena were great! People I met there were great! The energy was amazing! The location is amazing!
There were some issues like no food and fruits enough for 29 persons, no fresh water, no cleaning in the rooms and Shala.
We didn't have practice on Friday due to the MoonDay despite the fact that we paid for Friday practice too. 
I hope the organizer will take into consideration our reviews.



The yoga was wonderful, however they tooked off a mysore practice that was on the program. There wasn't enough food, especially at dinner, and basic details like toilet paper and water were missing.


The villa is stunning, the room confortable. The cleaning can be better.
The retreat was well organized.
The food was poor in quality and quantity. You should seriously work on it !

This experience was really great. One of the best parts was doing meditation and pranayama every day. Also, there was some good healthy food that was appreciated. Mallorca has some uplifting energy.

I am sad to be back home after an amazing week, it feels somewhat surreal that I was even there. 

Organisation was great, as was the food, although greater quantities were needed for 28 people in my opinion.

The villa/finca are wonderful, especially the gardens. Obviously the week of breath work, meditation, mysore, and workshops was amazing but I got most enjoyment from meeting a wonderful, eclectic group of people and exploring Mallorca. 

The only constructive comment I have is to ensure guests know before their booking that the week booked has a moon day, as Ashtanga isn’t practiced on those days. Several guests were surprised we had no yoga that day and felt the price of the trip should have reflected once less day of yoga. Whilst most were ashtangi’s, not all of us religiously follow the traditions. Moreover, many would have considered booking a Friday flight had we known in advance. I hope that helps for the future trip and I want to thank all of the organisers as I had a grand experience overall. 

An absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Cannot fault anything about this trip. Beautiful accommodation, delicious food, expert yoga teaching, all on the stunning island of Mallorca. Highly recommended. 🙏🏼

Perfect ashtanga yoga retreat! I learned so much and my practice feels a lot more deep. Together with the oh so delicious food, the beautiful and peaceful location and the lovely people, i had the best time!

Ashtanga Retreat with Laruga 2 Weeks

I had the privilege of attending an incredibly enriching Yoga Ashtanga immersion retreat on the serene landscapes of Mallorca. Over two weeks, the retreat became a deep exploration of the world of Ashtanga Yoga.

Guided by Laruga and David, seasoned practitioners and compassionate teachers, the retreat provided a harmonious blend of intense practice and profound teachings. Each day featured invigorating Mysore-style practice sessions in the mornings, followed by workshops that covered insightful yogic wisdom, alignment, pranayama, and meditation in the afternoons.

The sense of camaraderie among fellow participants cultivated a strong community spirit and mutual growth. Precisely what I was seeking-  gentle nourishing and relaxing…invigorating and re-inspiring.  

Zoe and Jess were perfect guides of Ashtanga. 

Montse, Nuria, Tony- everyone was so hospitable and warm.

Such a fantastic place- even though it’s a bit of a drive to the beach- the magical olive tree finca oasis held us in a loving embrace. 

Can’t wait to go back

I had a great time at the retreat! Great people, great foods, great environment, great service, and the most important, great practice with Kino and Tim!! I am so grateful for such a wonderful yoga retreat experience in beautiful Mallorca! 

Ashtanga Retreat with Kino & Tim 2 weeks

This was my third time at The Balearic retreat at Mallorca, and i looked forward to step into a litle piece of paradise so have been my experience from before.
But this time all of my litle piece of paradise disepeard, and i will never go back for any yoga retreats.
I will look for a new place for go at yoga retreats in my future.

What went wrong?
1.The food, Lindsey who was the cheef before was not there this year.
When eating it is important with a healthy mix of protein, fat and carbs.
It was not a good mix, and it was always to litle of the good food.
So we was likes sharks waiting for the food, and was standing in a queue minutes before the bell was ringing in for food time.
To be sure to get the food we really want to eat.
And the food between brunch and dinner was not good, to much bread and biscuit…and just some cheece.

People at the retreat the is at home vegetarian was very disipointed over the food.

2. to just have 3 workshop during the week and between 1-3pm was disipointed and wrong time during the day.
We hav paied alot of money to be at your retreat and this time i felt the yoga was a small part.
And that it was necessary to have a rental car to be a tourist around the island.

Like the two first time it was already start with a workshop saturday before dinner, and it was every day from 4:30-5 pm to dinner at 7pm.
I like to have the break between brunch 11 am to 4 pm.
To have workshop 1 hour after you where finish eating, not good.

And i was coming for having a intense yoga practice and workshop, relax between in the garden, house….not going to much outside as a tourist.

And friday we was finish with last yoga class, and after brunch finish.
We could left already friday, the dinner was really bad.
It should been yoga, workshop, a lovely dinner together all.
It was the midsummer our last day, and we should really celebrate this on a nice place close to the sea.
Paid for dinner and experience the midsummer at Mallorca.

3. The boat trip was so bad organize before the trip, that i was afraid it would be more stressful then fun.
And i got feedback that the boat trip was bad.
It should be organize with food on board, workshop and sunset etc.

4. To just communicate only by whatsapp, not good. 
Alot of information disappeared because of junk communication from members in the group.

The day with los off water i was having my phone for charging at my room.
So i was having a shower before dinner…then no water after some minutes. I was covered with soap in my hair and body…so i had to go to the pool for get clean from the soap before running for dinner.

5. The organizers was just visiting the retreat for the yoga teachers, make «fake» ig stories from the retrat take photos for advertising for future retreats.
And just into talk with the famous yogis and the most experience.

6. It should also be massage with oil treatment to book at the retreat.

7. it was some more things aswell…but this is the main things of why i will not come back again.
And stopp speak up about The Balearic retreat in the future and not anymore recommend this retreat to people looking for nice yoga retreats.

I was supposed to book a new retreat in july with Brinkela with your yoga retreat organizing.
She was a amazing yoga teacher i want to learn from, but not at your place in Spain.

I just want to be honest since i got such bad experiense on my third retreat with you.
And i talked with many during the first week that also was very disappointed but maybe have the guts to speak up?

Ashtanga Retreat with Kino & Tim Week 1

Amazing yoga experience, but rather inappropriate food for such extensive movement, no cleaning service (the room was cleaned only once per stay). 

This retreat was amazing! The location was stunning, the yoga shala was beautiful and the  the small touches really made it special. The walk through the grounds to the shala was magical and there were many little sanctuaries dotted about the place for rest or socialising. The teaching and guidance from Tim, Kino and Anna was truly outstanding.

Absolutely worthy yoga retreat. Simply everything was top notch, from the Ty, who was absolutely magical, to Lindsey who cooked incredible dishes for us. Needless to say, the location of the retreat was stunning, purposefully built by a landscape architect to fully focus on Yoga. 
Also big shout outs to Pilar, who has been absolutely splendid in organising this retreat - she was helpful at every instance. And also she's got an amazingly cute dog!

Ashtanga Retreat with Laruga Week 2

I liked the organizers Pilar and Tania- the location is amazing but you do need to hire a car- almost impossible to get a taxi in the Island. Food was nice. Note: yoga is from 8:30- aprrox 10;30 am then break time. 4:30 workshop is mainly talking- max 20 min practice.

Unreal location with dreamy views, fantastic hosts and teachers, warm welcome, wonderful food cooked by a nutritionist chef - this retreat was a real treat. Pilar always made sure that everyone is having the best time, and organised a few incredible surprises for all! 

It was a really nice experience, unfortunately the Shala was really cold, this is the only thing that may be improved. For everything else it was wonderful, great people and warm welcome. I’ll definitely come back!
