Almost All Meals are included in this package. Most dietary requirements are covered and available for travelers.

Visas

For most nationalities in our group (e.g., Australia, NZ, US, UK, much of the EU), the simplest option is to buy a 30-day tourist visa on arrival in Egypt for USD $25.

As always, make sure your passport has at least 6 months’ validity beyond entry and a blank page.

Welcome to Cairo

Cairo

Touch down in Cairo and transfer to the hotel.

For many families, international flights will commence from March 3 and will include one extra night on board their flight.

  • Free afternoon to acclimate and explore—perhaps wander the local markets or enjoy authentic Egyptian cuisine.

Overnight stay in Cairo.

Day 2

Cairo

It’s time to meet the other young homeschool explorers joining you on this epic adventure! Cairo – Giza Plateau & Cultural Discovery

  • After breakfast and a chance to meet fellow families, embark on a guided tour of the Giza Plateau: the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple.

  • Proceed to the Egyptian Museum to admire a vast collection of pharaonic treasures.

  • Continue with a stroll through the iconic Khan el-Khalili bazaar.

Optional evening: Cairo by Night tour featuring Tahrir, Zamalek, the Opera House, and a traditional dinner with an Egyptian show.

Overnight in Cairo.

Day 3

Cairo - Aswan

Cairo – Aswan & Board the Nile Cruise

Breakfast at the hotel.

Today, transfer to the airport for a short flight to Aswan*, situated on the Nile River and known for its great importance to the Ancient Egyptian civilisation.

  • Transfer by air to Aswan after breakfast.

  • Enjoy a relaxing felucca boat ride along the Nile to observe riverside life.

  • Visit the Granite Quarry with its Unfinished Obelisk and the Aswan High Dam.

  • Embark on your Nile cruise ship, settle into your cabin, and,

  • Optionally visit the Island of Philae to see the Temple of Isis.

Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 4

Aswan - Kom Ombo

Aswan → Kom Ombo

Full-board aboard the cruise.

Opt. for an early-morning excursion to Abu Simbel (departing around 3–3:30 a.m. to beat the heat and crowds).

  • Sail to Kom Ombo to explore the twin Temples of Haroeris and Sobek and view the Nilometer.

  • Visit a charming crocodile mummy museum before returning to the ship for a leisurely evening.

Overnight aboard the cruise.

Day 5

Edfu - Luxor

Kom Ombo → Edfu → Luxor

Enjoy full-board aboard.

  • Dock in Edfu and journey by traditional horse-drawn carriage to the magnificent Temple of Horus.

  • Continue cruising to Luxor. Explore the Temple of Luxor before returning to the ship.

Overnight on board.

Day 6

Luxor

Luxor – Ancient Tombs & Temples

Start with breakfast aboard.

  • Visit the Valley of the Kings (entry into Tutankhamun’s tomb available separately), plus the Temple of Hatshepsut.

  • Transfer to a Luxor hotel for relaxation.

Optional: Attend the enchanting Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple.

Overnight in Luxor.

Day 7

Luxor - Hurghada

Luxor → Hurghada (Red Sea)

Visit Karnak Temple in the morning after breakfast at the hotel.

  • Transfer by road to Hurghada, arriving at an all-inclusive resort on the Red Sea—your base for relaxation and marine exploration.

Overnight at the resort.

Red Sea – Leisure & Learning

All-Inclusive. Enjoy a day at your leisure relaxing in Hurghada, enjoying the laid-back beaches and making the most of your hotels facilities.

  • Full days at leisure in Hurghada, with access to beachside relaxation, optional snorkeling, diving, or exploring the vibrant Old Town (El Dahar).

Overnight stays at the resort.

Day 9

Hurghada

All-Inclusive.

  • Enjoy another relaxed day in beautiful Hurghada.

  • Enjoy the year-round warm sea temperatures to do some snorkelling in this diving hot-spot or take a stroll around the Old Town of El Dahar, home to traditional coffee shops and souks.

Overnight stay in Hurghada.

Day 10

Hurghada - Cairo

Hurghada → Cairo

After breakfast, transfer back to Cairo.

  • Optional excursions include a visit to the Saladin Citadel (with its Alabaster Mosque) or,

  • The Grand Egyptian Museum (featuring over 50,000 artifacts and sweeping views of the pyramids)

    —note: these are mutually exclusive options.

Day 11

It’s time to say goodbye to your new friends.

Don’t forget to swap addresses so your kids can keep in touch and build some global pen pal connections!

  • Farewell – Onward Travels

  • Enjoy breakfast (based on hotel timing).

Transfer to the airport for your return journey to Australia or onward destination.

Breakfast may be omitted for departures very early in the morning
