I am still reeling from the wonders I experienced there. I was fascinated with seeing the assembly line, watching as a new plane for DHL took off for Leipzig, Germany, and the marvels of the largest building in the world. I came home to San Diego with a Boeing T-shirt, Boeing notebook, “In Plane View,” a model of the Boeing 747 Dreamlifter, a round tin of airplane-shaped paper clips, ,a calendar, and booklets on how to identify the various military & civilian aircraft. Presents for someone? No, for me, and I am an 80 year old former Pan Am Purser who flew the 707, 727, 747, 757, 767, & my last flight was on the 777. This tour constituted a wonderful event in my life. Thanks for the in-depth experience!!!

Tom really knew his “stuff”! Really enjoyed it. Was very disappointed in the fact that Boeing gave so little credit for their initial success to Pam American Airways, the reason for their 747! Juan Trippe said “If you build it, we’ll buy it!” Without the 747, Boeing would probably not exist!

I would describe the overall experience as Fair. I was part of the Pan Am group that visited Boeing on Sept 4. On Sept 2nd, I sent an email to shawn@showmeseattle.com, requesting the hotel pickup time for the tour. I never received a response. I also called the telephone number at the bottom of the confirmation notice and tried to leave msgs at 2 different extensions and each voicemail box was full and not receiving msgs. It appears that 'Shoemeseattle' does not really have interest in communicating directly with patrons. Our bus tour guide (tall, slender male with a southern accent, James, I think) was, at times, very rude to us when we arrived at Boeing. He was showing outwards signs of frustration when we posed clarification questions about the locker protocol. There were many of us who did not appreciate his impatience and lack of customer service skills. Remember, we are former Pan Am employees who were steeped in the importance of providing exemplary customer service. Boeing would not have become one of the world's most venerable companies without Pan Am. There would have never been a 747 if Pan Am's founder, Juan Trippe, had not approached Boeing with the idea which resulted in the most iconic airplane in aviation history to date. James needed to show more respect! On the way to Boeing, the bus tour guide was providing some background information about Wm Boeing which was interesting, but I didn't understand why the same information provided by the bus tour guide was also on the film we viewed at Boeing. Any factory tour is going to be noisy. When questions were posed to the Boeing tour guide many of us could not here the question. May I suggest the Boeing tour guides repeat all posed questions so that the entire group can learn from the responses. After the tour I wanted to buy some refreshments in the cafe next to the lockers. When I presented cash for payment I was told they do NOT accept cash. If the cafe does not accept cash, the cafe employees should inform guests PRIOR TO enacting the order....not AFTER. I was a bit disappointed in the content of the tour however I was impressed with the organization of it. Unfortunately, I would not recommend the Boeing tour to anyone.

Fantastic tour and tour guide. Our group of 9 got to see all the things we wanted to see, and when our tour guide got to know that we were interested in history and aviation, he pointed out extra points of interest along the way. Would absolutely book again.

James, our driver was very knowledgeable and enjoyable. The process was very easy from the time I booked this with Shawn B up until James dropped us off at the airport. Would highly recommend!!! Thank you.
