Arrive and be transferred to your hotel by our Travel to do Good in country team.  Check into the African Regent a simply Afropolitan hotel centrally located  that is a 10 minute walk from the Accra Mall.

Dressmakers and tailors will also be available to you to take measurements to make your customized African outfit.  Not to worry, your outfit will be ready to wear to your Farewell Dinner on the last day of the trip (if you choose).

Join Dr. Adrienne at Action Church or for quiet reflections on your own Sunday morning.  Afterwards the group will head over to Accra Mall for lunch -a great place for people watching and shopping.

After lunch the group will embark on a city tour where they will visit many visit many famous and interesting areas including Independence Square - Accra's open air ceremonial ground where national celebrations take place. It is also home to the Kwame Nkurumah Mausoleum and Museum, a tribute to Ghana's first President.  

The group will end the day at the world famous Art Market.

One of trip highlights is a full day in the village and volunteer project with Dr. Adrienne and the ladies from the Wo Ye Bra.  Throughout the day you will also have the opportunity to interact with members of their community and learn about village life as well as their daily challenges and milestones. 

Afterward the group will reflect on the day's activities and the impact each person has made.

In the evening the group will visit the Night Markets

Breakfast will be on the go as the group embarks on their day trip to visit Cape Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the departure points for the African who were sold into slavery in he Americas.  The Cape Coast Slave dungeon is the home of the infamous "door of no return."  The group will also take a guided tour through the town of Elmina.  At the harbor view, visitors will see the colorful fishing canoes as the fisherman prepare to go to sea for another night's task of fishing.  

Before leaving, there will be a naming ceremony, where participants will receive their new African name. 

On the way back to Accra, the group will visit Kakum National Park, Ghana's most famous park.  Take a brief walking tour on the forest floor where you will learn how the Ancestors lived in the forest.  See birds, butterflies and perhaps catch a glimpse of the forests that has over 40 species of mammals including monkeys and the reclusive forest elephant.  Proceed to the canopy walk.  Kakum is home to Africa's only aerial walkway through the tree canopy, a 1000 feet long and seven-bridge walkway with viewing platforms that reach heights of over 150 feet above the ground.

The group will enjoy a West African cooking class. in which they will enjoy lunch they have prepared with a local chef using local seasonings and produce

After lunch the group will visit the W. E. B. Du Bois Memorial Centre for Pan African Culture 

Established in 1985, the W. E .B. Du Bois Memorial Centre for Pan- African Culture, Accra is a national historic monument of Ghana, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. The Final resting place of Dr. W. E. B. and Shirley Graham Du Bois. This major West African tourist site houses the mausoleum, personal library, and museum of the Du Bois’ rich lives as influential American and Pan- African thinkers and activists. 

Tonight enjoy a an evening of dinner and live jazz at Club 233

The group will visit Osu, a bohemian area and village where you can take in more Ghanaian culture.

 In the late afternoon, your custom made outfits will be delivered to the hotel.  This evening the group will enjoy Ghanaian food, music and dancing at your "Farewell Dinner" at the home of a Ghanaian executive.
