About this trip

This volunteer travel experience focuses on Ghana as a destination for shared learning through cultural immersion, people to people experiences and volunteer service.  Ghana is a rich destination, full of color, vibrancy, culture and history.  There are over 100 ethnic groups living in Ghana. The largest are Akan, Moshi-Dagbani, Ewe, and Ga. The Ashanti tribe of the Akan are the largest tribe and one of the few societies in West Africa where lineage is traced through the mother and maternal ancestors.

During their stay, travelers will volunteer with Wo Ye Bra, our Ghana non profit partner which was founded by Trip Host Dr. Adrienne Johnson of Infinity Global Connections.

We had a great experience. The trip provided a comprehensive history of the transatlantic slave trade, the Ashanti Kingdom and the culture of Ghana. There was something for everyone and fun was also included. Shopping was brisk. Senegal was the perfect wind down to get ready to return to the U.S. The tour guides in both countries were knowledgeable and were very accommodating no matter the request. Thank you Travel to Do Good for exceeding our expectations.

This is the most memorable trip that I have had the opportunity to be apart of. THE PEOPLE, THE FOOD, THE FELLOWSHIP, MOST OF ALL THE HOSPITALITY . AMAZING 👏

This trip was fun, eye opening, educational, and I enjoyed every second of it! The WeTravel team did an excellent job in planning and partnering with KITS to make our groups experience phenomenal. I highly recommend using WeTravel for all trips to the Motherland.

The trip was a wonderful spirit filled experience, true to form with art, music and culture throughout the country. While the trip was a bit too jammed packed with activities, it was good to have a variety of exposures, events and adventures for the full experience. Suggestions for the tour guide; Help set expectations by informing the tour group a day ahead of what to expect. Examples: Inform group of the day(s) when we will be walking in water so we can wear water shoes, short pants, etc. Inform group of days where there will be no running water or toilet facilities while on tour. Thank you again for a well planned and orchestrated "travel to do good" experience.
