About this trip

 Join Albert DeSilver internationally published poet, memoirist, novelist, Spirit Rock teacher, and workshop leader for “Writing as a Path to Awakening,” a reading, meditation, and writing workshop devoted to exploring your inner and outer creativity.


The day-long Retreat will include will include innovative writing exercises, prompts, dynamic meditation, and further exploration on how to take your writing and your life to the next level. Saraswati will be leading yoga, breathwork and meditation sessions.

About The Tilden House

The Tilden House is a small, intentional space for gatherings, special events, yoga classes and trainings. It is nestled in the Berkeley Hills overlooking Wildcat Canyon and offers a sanctuary to retreat and reconnect.

In addition to our special events, we offer private therapeutic yoga classes, energy healing and reiki by appointment. 

About the teachers

 Albert Flynn DeSilver is an internationally published poet, memoirist, novelist, speaker and workshop leader. He is the author of several books of poems and the memoir Beamish Boy, which was named one of Kirkus Reviews “Best Books of 2012”. His latest book is Writing as a Path to Awakening: A Year to Becoming an Excellent Writer & Living an Awakened Life (Sounds True, 2017). Albert served as Marin County California’s very first Poet Laureate from 2008-2010. He has shared the stage with US Poet Laureate Kay Ryan, bestselling authors’ Cheryl Strayed, Elizabeth Gilbert, Maxine Hong Kingston, and many others.
