About this trip

For those looking  for an exciting day full of activities, this tour takes you from your  hotel/resort in San Ignacio Town  to the top of  the El Castillo, to floating in one of Xibalba’s gateways at Nohoch Che'en caves aka ''Jaguar paw''.

You will be Exploring & climbing Xunantunich’s structures, learning about the Maya civilization's imprint in our country,  admiring beautiful landscape of countryside (from the top of El Castillo) before you get pampered with an authentic Belizean lunch. After getting fueled up get ready to enjoy a relaxing time in a very unique cave system in Belize.

Enjoy a unique aqua adventure through caves as you frolic downstream through a stunning turquoise river. Your cave-tubing adventure will start with a 20-minute hike as you ford across Caves Branch River. Along the way, you will witness many of the sites and sounds of the lowland broad-leaf tropical forest. Once in the water, be prepared to see the many exotic cave formations that are part of this unique experience. (your guide do the work for you: pulling your tubes while you relax and enjoy the cave system and once out of the caves you will be happy to sunbathe in the warm tropical sun)

I LOVED this trip! I booked it fairly spur of the moment for my last day in San Ignacio and I’m so glad I did. The Xunan Ruins were amazing and our guide, Elio, did a great job of explaining what we were looking at and filling in gaps in my understanding of the Maya. The caves were out of this world, I had just done ATM caves the day before and was in utter awe at Jaguar Paw! I can’t speak highly enough of Elio. He took great care of us all day, sharing with us his knowledge and fantastic sense of humor. Lunch was also excellent. 11/10 recommend this tour.

This was a must. We Rode through the jungle while our tour guide Jose pointed out different species of animals and plants. The horses were well trained and easy to handle. I proposed to my future wife in xunantunich. It was easy to plan out, they gave me the perfect spot to propose and they even went above and beyond to communicate with the photographer I hired so everything went as planned. Our guide Jose was great, very informative and kept it lively the entire ride. What an amazing experience this was!

This was a great trip for our family. Rod and Jose were excellent guides both on the horses and at Xunantunich. They both ensured that our kids were safe while riding and were very knowledgeable about the area. We learned so much about the Mayans and the temple that we visited. They provided great stories and integrated the children into the experience as much as possible. We would highly recommend this experience!

We had a great time on the Mayan ruins horseback tour. It was a beautiful ride into the park (not abbreviated in any way) and the tour once inside was very informative and interesting. Our guide gladly answered any and all questions we had. The ride from our hotel was right on time and the tour didn’t seem rushed.
