From start to finish, the Ultimate Cave Kayak experience was exceptional. From top-notch communication, delicious food (Cave Burrito), a serene and mesmerizing river view, a historical and native plants history, followed by a trip through the caves on Kayak and a refreshing swim in the water near the end - there’s not enough words for me to fully detail all this trip encompassed. Francis was a historian, guide, chef (with mom’s help!), communicator, story-teller, connector, encourager and so much more. His sense of humor was refreshing. Alone, this trip would have been terrific. Having Francis as the guide made it 100 times better. His knowledge and enthusiasm was contagious and we can’t wait to bring our kids back to do this very tour. Traveling via kayak made this trip even more amazing. A kayak is such a versatile vessel and allows so much more in-depth exploring than a tube. Tubes are fun - but kayaks are the real experience! (Plus you aren’t hooked up to ten other people!) We have visited several Mayan sites, caves, rivers, etc - this trip is like a combination of all of them. If you are short on time and can only do one adventure - this is it. It touches on a little bit of everything and the beauty of the river and natural environment is the icing on the cake.
