Itinerary: Day to day

DAY 1 ARRIVALS: Our team will welcome you all at the airport, afterwards, we'll head to our hotel in Cairo where you can freshen up and get ready for our welcome dinner!

DAY 2 GIZA PYRAMIDS: We figured we'd get straight into it and begin with the iconic Giza Pyramids. We'll tour the plateau, and learn about the Chephren, Mycerinus pyramids as well as the Valley Temple and Great Sphinx. Afterwards, we'll enjoy lunch near the pyramids and head back to our hotel to relax and freshen up for our later afternoon boat ride on the Nile.

DAY 3 ISLAMIC CAIRO: We'll spend the morning visiting various mosques around Cairo (Citadelle of Saladin, Sultan Hassan, Al Rifai and more! Afterwards, we booked a special lunch at unique location.  In the afternoon, you'll meet our friends at the Cairo Coffee Collective for fresh coffee made with love. We've arranged to have dinner in very unique places, let us surprise you!

DAY 4 ISLAMIC CAIRO:  Today we'll visit Al-Azhar mosque and learn about the beautiful architecture built by the Fatimid Empire. We'll stop at the Ibn Tulum mosque and learn about its timeless beauty and depth. After lunch, you'll have the afternoon to discover the Khan al Khalili Bazaar. As for dinner, it will take place at a very special place.

DAY 5 SIWA (9 hour drive):  Relax and get acquainted with the environment, unwind by the pool or walk around the ecovillage to explore the facilities before savoring your first exquisite Moroccan meal at Taziry.

DAY 6 EPIC OASIS: After a delicious home-grown filling breakfast, observe and learn about the monuments of all great civilizations that passed by this mythical oasis, from the Pharaonic to the Greco-Roman period, with the most knowledgeable and multi-lingual guide in Siwa: Temple of the Oracle of Amun (or temple of Alexander the Great), Temple of Amun, Cleopatra's bath, Mountain of the Dead, Ruins of Shali, and the Island of Fatnas. This tour will not be another monotonous cultural trip, it will enable you to witness Siwa’s richest and deepest roots; to understand and enjoy it from a universal perspective.

DAY 7 THE GREAT SAND SEA: Get ready for the most unforgettable experience of discovering the various depths of the Great Sand Sea. A 4x4 vehicle will drive you to the desert for a full-day safari. You will appreciate the petrified forests, fossilized sea shells, cruise on top of curved sand dunes, swim in fresh lakes and hot sulphuric springs. You will also be equipped for sand-boarding: easy slopes for the amateurs and the steepest dunes for the advanced! Snacks, juices and mint tea will be served for lunch. After you observe the magnificent sunset from the top of a high dune, you will be back to Taziry for a well-deserved delicious dinner.

DAY 8 HIGH BELOW: You might well have heard that our mysterious oasis is below sea level, and was once part of the Ocean. If you are “in tune” with Mother-Nature, you will immediately feel its energy. In the Salt Lake (as salty as the Dead Sea) you will be able to refresh your skin and body and float free while watching the beautiful blue sky above. After that, our guide will take you to Abou Shrouf's spring, to swim in its fresh warm waters. When you have completely rejuvenated, you will visit the old village of Ain Saf to learn about an authentic hundred years old olive oil press, then you will be taken to watch the sunset from a vantage point.

DAY 9 RETURN TO CAIRO: Upon returning to Cairo, we will have one last dinner together and prepare for departure on the following day. We'll be sad to see you go!

It is said that ‘travellers rarely consider themselves foreigners’ In this spirit, we invite you to experience more than an “escape.”

This trip was like none other. The retreat was uniquely curated to incorporate elements of spirituality, foster deep connection between the attendees, and provide an authentic and meaningful experience of Jamaica. I miss it already and wish I could go back and do it again with the same people!

This was an overall fantastic experience. Apart from the absolutely breathtaking views and stunning natural beauty which I cannot rave enough about, the experience felt 100% curated for someone like me. Wafa and Chloe and the whole Burgundy Roots team was a. 100% phenomenal, b. Super professional, c. Had focused interactions dripping with love and care, and d. Totally blew me away. I recommend this trip without reservation whether you are going alone or with a friend/partner. It felt really good to be part of a touring group that had a solid intention to honor and support the communities we visited, the focus on sustainability and respect was a huge plus for me. Visiting farms, eating food that was harvested just for moi :) I know each group will be different, but I also just have to say the sisterhood is next level. I truly believe (but have no idea how) our group was put together with our personalities in mind. We couldn't have meshed better. Over a week since my return and I'm still glowing with the light of my new sisters.

This trip was amazing. Wafa carefully curated each experience to truly fit each of us. The experiences felt personalized even in the larger group setting. She partners with locals that are equally as friendly and kind. I loved it and can’t wait to go again!

Thank you to the Burgundy roots team for being such incredible, patient and friendly hosts. It’s so hard to pick a highlight from this trip as each day was special in its own way. I enjoyed learning about Rastafarians at the Rasta camp and found the experience so eye opening. All the water activities were so much fun from The magical blue lagoon views to reach falls and the rabbit hole. The accommodation at Sea cliff resort was like the cherry on top of an already perfect experience. Thank you to the chefs for providing us with halal meat and mouth watering platters. A big shout out to the photographers for capturing our best moments on the trip. Love and blessings ❤️🙏❤️

I had such a blast on this trip. Although I had been to some of the destinations before, it still felt unique the Second time. The food was outstanding, the carefully selected destinations, the morning prayer and hearing the sound of the waves at Seacliff resort was an incredible experience I will cherish forever! Thank you for making this trip one of my favourite retreats ever. Love and blessings ❤️🙏
