With its rustic western charm, from the town square with the elk antler arches to the historic hotels, Jackson is the hub of the area with hotels, restaurants, and services.

Today we will take the route most tours take to travel between Salt Lake City

and Jackson, Wyoming. This is a full day on the coach of get to know you

activities, learning from Carol and Alan, and stopping at the sites along the way.

We will travel through the beautiful limestone Logan Canyon, see the Caribbean

Blue waters of Big Bear Lake, and travel through the small Mormon Pioneer

towns of Garden City, Paris, Montpelier, and Afton on our way to Jackson. Arrive

in Jackson in time to do a quick city tour and then explore the town and saddle up to the bar or select a restaurant of your choosing this evening in Jackson.

The park is a delightful surprise of alpine lakes, lush meadows, and gorgeous mountain views of the Grand Teton mountain range. Grand Teton has a diverse and long-standing history that includes 11,000 years of human inhabitation. Nomadic Indians, American Indian tribes, early American explorers, and permanent settlers once called this national park home.

The first glimpses of the Teton Mountains will take your breath away! Get to

know Grand Teton National Park by visiting Mormon Row, the Craig Thomas

Visitor Center, the Chapel of Transfiguration, Jenny Lake, and Jackson Lake.

Wear your walking shoes today as we take the ferry across the gorgeous Jenny

Lake to hiking trails on the far side. Treat yourself to lunch with a view beyond

compare on Jackson Lake Lodge’s patio. Learn some of the "off the beaten path" hikes and trails, like Hidden falls and inspiration point. You might even spot elk or a moose!

America’s first national park! Home to 2.2 million acres with an incomparable combination of natural beauty, rugged wilderness, majestic peaks, abundant wildlife, and the world’s largest concentration of geysers and thermal features, it’s no wonder Yellowstone was named America’s first national park.

Travel the John D Rockefeller, Jr. Memorial Parkway to Yellowstone, and learn

how the Rockefeller family gifted this treasured landscape to the American

people. We will do a short hike and enjoy our included lunch with the natural beauty in our midst. Take a stunning photograph of the Teton Mountains from Ox Bow Bend and see Jackson Lake from the Colter area/ Enter Yellowstone and visit some of the iconic Yellowstone stops along the way to our hotel in the West Yellowstone area.

We plan to do it all!  The rest of this week, we will prepare you to lead amazing tours in Yellowstone. Learn where the best rest room and lunch stops are located. Learn a few secret (not very often visited) places to take your groups. Hear the stories of the human history of Yellowstone.

Learn how to explain the geology of the park to your guests. See towering

waterfalls, vast meadows, fire scared landscapes, tall forests, and of course the

geothermal features of Yellowstone, like Old Faithful! Hopefully along the way we will see some elk, bison and maybe even a bear!

We aren’t quite finished with Yellowstone National Park yet! Today we travel to

Mammoth Springs and through Lamar Valley on our way to Billings, MT. Lamar

Valley is the best location to spot wolves, and usually has its fair share of bison

too. After leaving the park the scenery doesn’t end. Travel along the drop dead

gorgeous Bear Tooth Highway on our way to Billings, the railroad and energy

capitol of Montana. 

Billings has its history as a trading center, a stagecoach stop, a railroad town, and oil and gas. Today it is the largest city in Montana. Lewis and Clark’s expedition traveled through the area and initially named the area for Sacajawea’s son. The Battle of Little Bighorn in the Indian Wars took place just east of the city.
