Explore Yellowstone’s legendary thermal landscapes in a full-day adventure designed to beat the crowds and maximize wonder. Departing early from Gardiner or West Yellowstone, we’ll begin with a panoramic walk to Grand Prismatic Overlook, followed by Black Sand Basin and an extended visit to Old Faithful and the Upper Geyser Basin.

Travel back through the Firehole River corridor, stopping at Fountain Paint Pots and Firehole Lake Drive, then continue to interpretive storytelling sites including Mattie Culver’s Grave, the Nez Perce Trail Marker, and the Chinese Laundry Site. We’ll close the day with a short walk at Artist Paint Pots in the golden light of late afternoon.

Lunch is included at the Old Faithful Inn or nearby food courts, with flexibility built in depending on crowd levels. This itinerary includes a mix of scenic drives, short walks, and rich historical interpretation.

Departure at 6:15 AM is strongly recommended to ensure easy access at entrances and a smoother, more enjoyable experience throughout the day.

🦌 Will We See Wildlife?

Absolutely—though wildlife sightings vary daily, Yellowstone is full of surprises. Bison, elk, birds of prey, and other animals are often visible during early drives and scenic stops. You’ll almost certainly see wildlife as we travel through the park.

 Please note: This tour is available on a first-come, first-served basis. While multiple itineraries may be listed for the same day, only one tour will run per day based on the first booking received.  

You will receive a confirmation email within 12 hours to verify that your selected date and itinerary are still available. 

If your chosen tour/date has already been booked another tour that same date, you will be offered the option to:  

• switch to an alternate itinerary 

• select another available date 

• or receive a full refund

Payment Plan: • A 20% deposit is due at booking and is non-refundable • The remaining 80% will be automatically processed 5 days before your scheduled tour

If your final payment fails and is not resolved within 48 hours, your spot may be released to another guest.

Cancellation Policy:

 • The 20% deposit is always non-refundable. 

• If you cancel more than 5 days before your tour, any additional payments (beyond the deposit) will be refunded. 

• If you cancel within 5 days, no refund will be issued—unless your spot can be resold.

Expedition Sisterhood will always do its best to fill unused spots and issue a partial refund when possible.

This policy applies to both single-day bookings and the 5-day bundle. Full terms will be outlined in your waiver and guest agreement, sent within 3 days of booking.

 Gardiner Departure

· Depart Gardiner by 6:15 AM and enter Yellowstone through the North Entrance.

· Take the scenic drive to Grand Prismatic Overlook.

· Walk the overlook trail for panoramic views of Grand Prismatic Spring before crowds arrive.

· Continue south to Black Sand Basin for a short walk among colorful thermal features.

· Visit Old Faithful and walk part of the Upper Geyser Basin loop; view eruption from boardwalk or observation area.

· Enjoy lunch at the Old Faithful Inn or in nearby food courts. While this is a popular area, we’ll stay flexible and have alternatives ready if needed.

· Begin return route with a visit to Fountain Paint Pots thermal area.

· Drive Firehole Lake Drive, stopping at scenic geysers and thermal pools along the loop.

· Afternoon storytelling stops along the Firehole River: Mattie Culver’s Grave, Nez Perce Trail Marker, and discuss the Chinese Laundry Site.

· Final walk at Artist Paint Pots for a short loop with colorful mud pots and late-day light

· Return to Gardiner by approximately 6:30 PM.

West Yellowstone Departure

· Depart West Yellowstone by 6:15 AM and enter Yellowstone through the West Entrance.

· Take the scenic drive to Grand Prismatic Overlook.

· Walk the overlook trail for panoramic views of Grand Prismatic Spring before crowds arrive.

· Continue south to Black Sand Basin for a short walk among colorful thermal features
