Join Jessie & Laura for a unique retreat to Cartagena, Colombia and its surrounding islands!
During our 6 days together, you will experience the vibrant Colombian & Caribbean culture, foods, and nightlife of Cartagena, and enjoy the stunning beachings and calm waters of the Rosario and Tierra Bomba Islands.
Jessie and Laura have also teamed up to offer you some incredible programming, which can best be described as, Yin & Yang: Restored Balance Through Movement.
What is Yin & Yang?
“Complementary (rather than opposing) forces that interact to form a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than the assembled parts.”
Jessie and Laura have been friends for 5 years now and while they have a LOT in common, they challenge each other in different ways. Jessie challenges Laura to be more fierce and fiery. Laura challenges Jessie to be more present and grounded. While these seem to be opposing energies, they work in unison. They create balance.
They both find healing and solace in movement and while their preferred movement types (Dance and Yoga, respectively ) are viewed as different, they find them be quite similar and complementary-- Yin and Yang. Throughout the retreat, Jessie and Laura will use these forms of movement to dive deeper in to who we are at our core and who we are becoming. While guiding you through physical barriers, they will also help you let go of stories you tell yourself, such as, "I can't dance", "I'm not flexible enough to do yoga," "I can't meditate," or "I have no rhythm."
Their hope is that, through movement, discussion, and exploration, you will learn more about yourself and gather tools with which to overcome bigger barriers and stories you tell yourself on a daily basis. Give yourself the opportunity to tap in to your true potential, own your power, see both your soft and fiery side and experience how the two create balance.
Why Cartagena?
Cartagena holds both Yin and Yang qualities. While the downtown is colorful and lively (Salsa lessons, anyone!?) the city also rests along the peaceful and beautiful Caribbean waters. You will be spending time in both settings—another aspect of this experience the separates it from others. Escape your fast-paced city life, explore a new land, and give yourself time and space to slow down and discover a new you.

Passport & Immunization Requirements
You must have a valid passport to travel to the Colombia. Please check your passport expiration date and make sure it is valid for the duration of this trip.
A Visa is not required for US Citizens visiting Colombia, unless you are staying for more than 90 days.

Refund Policy & Trip Insurance
All retreats include a $500 non-refundable / non-transferable deposit, which is required to hold your spot on the trip. Any balance payments made are also non-refundable / non-transferable. SolSeed Retreats cannot make exceptions to its cancellation policy as costs are incurred prior to the Retreat Start Date.
The purchase of travel insurance is highly recommended for this trip, which will protect you against potential trip delays or cancellations due to airline issues, family emergencies, illness, injury, etc. If you decide not to purchase travel insurance, you are assuming 100% of any costs incurred for trip cancellation or trip interruption.

Flight Parameters
You will be flying into and out of Cartagena's Rafael Núñez International Airport (Airport code: CTG).
The start date of the retreat is March 6th. Please plan to arrive between 11am - 4pm if you'd like to be greeted at the airport by our SolSeed Rep. If you arrive outside of that window, we can still arrange your transfer from the airport to our guesthouse (about a 15 min drive), but our SolSeed Rep will not be present.
The end date of the retreat is March 11th. You may depart at any point that morning, and must be checked out of the guesthouse by 12pm. We will arrange and cover the cost of all airport transfers leading up to 12pm on departure day.
Available Packages
The largest room on the property, this room features 5 twin beds on 2 floors of living. The ground floor has two twin beds and the suite's private bathroom which has a room temperature water shower. The lofted second floor includes three more beds, and access to the room's private outdoor terrace. This room has A/C.

This spacious quad room features 4 twin beds, A/C, and ensuite private bathroom with room temperature water shower.

These beautiful double occupancy rooms may be configured with a single double size bed, or two twin beds. All rooms have A/C, and their own private bathrooms with room temperature water showers.

The most private of our accommodations, this single occupancy rooms features a double size bed, A/C, and private bathroom with room temperature water shower.
Itinerary
We will be spending 5 nights / 6 days at a private, fully staffed guesthouse located in the hip Getsemani neighborhood of Cartagena.
Accommodations feature single, double and shared occupancy rooms, each with private bath. You will have access to plenty of communal hangout spaces as well, such as a lounge area with plunge pool and bar, and a spacious roofdeck with vistas of the Old City.
