About this trip

On this yoga and island adventure retreat, participants will enjoy the balance of adventure and restoration. You can reset your mind and relax in a beach hammock, or swim with manta rays. You can wake up and walk straight to the ocean. Learn about Maldivian island culture, eat fresh seafood caught daily, and practice yoga on the warm light-sand beaches. Travel to an island paradise with Victoria Privette and Marisa Cooke. Marisa has traveled to the Maldives 7 times exploring the culture and making good friends, making Marisa the perfect American guide to exploring this beautiful island country.

We will stay on the island of Mahibadhoo, about a mile circumference with a simple, small town feel. Our venue is Liberty Guest House, a local guest house with ten comfortable and minimal designs each with their own balcony views overlooking the Indian Ocean. Their in-house restaurant and cafe offers fresh, local meals. This guest house is locally-owned and more approachable than a resort.

The Maldives is a group of thousands of island south of Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean. This country can be known for luxury resorts, but we are going the local way. Explore the small shops, food, and relaxed lifestyle of Mahibadhoo. Common weather in January is usually in the mid 80s F with lots of sunshine.

During your week with us, you’ll have the chance to swim with manta rays and whale sharks, snorkel in beautiful clear waters, spend evenings on a deserted island, all together with a group of mindful yogis of all levels.

The participants will have a daily schedule of one yoga class on the rooftop of our guest house or on the soft beach sands, one excursion and free time to explore the beaches and local island which includes local cafes and market shops.

All you have is freedom, and nothing on our schedule is mandatory. Use your two guides, Victoria and Marisa as much as you’d like to find as much adventure as you’d like.

Hi there! I am the founder and owner of Victory Power Yoga in Clayton, North Carolina. I grew up a military brat, traveling and living around the world. I am most comfortable in any given situation, especially in new environments! I am hosting this upcoming retreat in the Maldives in January 2020 because (selfishly) cannot wait to travel with Marisa NeSmith, our other guide for this adventure! She found herself in Clayton in 2018 and she always encouraged me to travel more. She was the reason I assisted my first yoga retreat in Bali!
