11 days / West-Central Cuba
Havana - Vinales - Cienfuegos – Trinidad - Santa Clara - Cayo Santa Maria - Havana
A 11-day adventure through Cuba’s cities which need to be seen to be believed. Yoga sessions, with a tinge of spirituality and mindfulness, offered once a day except on first and last day as we travel through Havana, Vinales, Cayo Santa Maria and Trinidad. Hatha flow to wake us up in the morning or a gentle/yin yoga to cap the day. Guided meditation and pranayama complement our practice. All levels and abilities are welcome. Please bring your own mats and props.
Old Havana, its crowning glory, is a spellbinding muddle of crumbling colonial mansions, shady plazas, cobbled streets and laundry-strewn balconies. Brightly coloured vintage Buicks line the pavements and salsa music drifts through the alleyways. It’s like a step back in time.
Beyond Havana, Trinidad - a UNESCO World Heritage colonial town is sensual and high-spirited where bands strike up in the streets and rowdy hole-in-the-wall rum bars stay open far into the night. Optional bici-taxi (bicycle taxi) tour.
Rolling through tobacco fields in Vinales, where we could go horseback riding or hiking through the hills or vist a cigar factory and plantation. Afterwards we visit the scenic viewpoint at Hotel Jazmines which overlooks the Vinales Valley.
Staying in a family home (casa particular) is hands down, the best way to meet local people and get a feel for Cuban hospitality. Breakfast is included during our stay with the locals.
Then getting back to the beautiful bare necessities on castaway Cayo Santa Maria island connected to the mainland through a bridge. With swaying palms, snow-white sand and sapphire waters, it’s no frills, no fuss and no worries all the way. We stay in the modest Warwick Hotel which has lots of atmosphere and the cabanas are situated close to the beach. Our accommodation is based on fullboard - breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included during our stay. Reservation is a must and as early as possible!
