Our intention is to immerse ourselves in the local culture, exploring it through its’ food and taking time to learn and connect both to ourselves and our environment. This is a learning experience that is experiential, and can only be felt by all senses. We will move, taste, smell, share and connect.
During the weekend we will immerse ourselves in the culture of Antigua, exploring local food and connecting to ourselves. Daily morning meditation and yoga will give us an opportunity to cultivate an intention for our day, followed by immersive food experiences. A nutrition seminar will teach us about staple local foods, their cultural influence, and how we can utilise their nutritional benefits. To integrate what we’v learned, we will take a cooking class and enjoy the flavours of traditional local cuisine. On a local farm tour, we will learn about agricultural sustainability and it’s influences on our communities and our environment. These explorations have been strategically chosen to provide us with a better understanding of the local terrain around food practices, and help us learn what Guatemalan food is all about. Throughout the retreat, we will also enjoy time to explore Antigua’s rich colours and culture. The last day will be dedicated to self care, enjoying a spa morning, consisting of the sauna, pool, and optional spa treatments at Palo Santo hotel.
An option for a shared room with one or two more more persons, or a private room available.
Prices are $450 and $575 accordingly.
Early bird until June 10, 2019.
