About this trip

Join Linda and Robyn for a magical week of yoga on one of the juiciest islands on the planet. In Bali, every local has an art that they practice actively, and every moment is lived as if it is a miracle. Come immerse yourself in this gorgeous culture, and enjoy extraordinary massages, ancient temple-hopping, and adventuring through spectacular rice fields. We are staying at one of the most awarded boutique resorts on the island, where every wish comes true.

Wake up to the sound of birds, hop in your outdoor shower, then join the guided walk through the rice fields, or go for a luxurious swim in the pool. Meditate overlooking the jungle gorge or just sleep in.

Breakfast is at your leisure and probably the best you've ever had. That's what people have said again and again, and we agree.

The morning yoga is two hours, in a pavilion perched on a cliff looking down on a river and lush tropical forests. There are no words to describe the view. Time stops and all goodness is restored in the world.

The entire afternoon is open for you to enjoy lunch by the pool or join excursions, head to the beach, or visit spectacular temples, check yourself into the spa, or do some serious shopping in downtown Ubud.

The evening Yoga will be mellower and shorter to get us out in time for a sunset swim or maybe a second massage that day (trust us!).

Dinner will be either out on the town with the group or with a few friends, maybe enjoying a dance performance, or a 5-course gourmet indulgence in the private salon of Michelin-starred Mozaik, or just quiet time for you to restore.

All daily Yoga sessions will cater to all levels; also, they are all optional. Pick and choose from what is offered based on how you feel - choose a little or choose a lot.

Join us!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Paris with Linda and Sarah. It is an experience that I will hold dear to my heart for a long, long time. I wish that more yoga activities were involved to reach the full value of the cost of the retreat. We practiced physical yoga for 1 hour each day. Most yoga retreats involve other yoga work like meditation, pranayama/breath work, intention setting, workshops, etc. and could add up to at least 3 hours per day. The quality of the classes led by Linda were wonderful and the savasanas were truly divine. The space where we practiced was not what I had expected based on what was advertised but the room was nice and had lovely natural lighting. The art/museum tours were fascinating. It is apparent that Sarah is incredibly passionate about art and it felt more like a storytelling experience rather than informative speech. The museums chosen for the tour were top notch. Breathtaking experience! We had plenty of free time to explore Paris on our own and to visit other museums not on the schedule. I wish we had done more as a group, like a special dinner planned in advance for one of the nights or something fun. I also would have appreciated an intro/orientation type session since I didn't know anyone or anything about Paris. I would've liked to learn everyone's names and what drew them to this particular retreat. Luckily, I made an instant friend with one of the participants. She showed me the ropes, taught me French etiquette and always made sure I had a sandwich in hand after yoga. Overall, it was a lovely experience. I am now familiar with Paris and more knowledgable about some of my favorite artworks and artists. Thank you for organizing this trip Linda and Sarah! You are both beautiful and awesomely talented!
Review : Yoga in Paris with Linda – 4 stars overall 1. The Yoga (quality – 5 stars / quantity – 3.5 stars / practice space – 3.5 stars / music – 5 stars) This is what the original flier stated with the pictures attached. “Practice vinyasa every day in a historic gallery, which aptly hosts art exhibits and fashion shows.” -It is in the same building “Elephant Paname.” I did not see the gallery room. However, the windows opposite the mirrors gave a nice view of a courtyard. -The room in which we practiced was just large enough to fit the retreat participants. The quality of the yoga was 5 stars. The amount of yoga did not meet my expectations. We did receive an e-mail May 3rd about there only being one hour, but my plane ticket, hotel and yoga spot were already paid for; I thought, let's see how it goes. There was no meditation or other yogic type activity aside from the one hour class each morning. Past retreats I’ve attended have offered at least 2 hours of yoga, meditation or other activities including speakers, workshops . . . we had art tours, but this was not related to the yoga. -90 minutes per day would have allowed for more yoga while also maintaining the free time available in the afternoon. -The music selected was excellent and truly enhanced the class. -There were not yoga mats available to participants as advertised in the original flier. -The shower / bathroom facilities were excellent. 2. Community – 1.5 stars YogaSource mission: Our mission is to create a home for the practice of hatha yoga that encourages each student's individual growth while fostering a sense of community and friendship. -There was not an introduction for participants to get to know each other; each participant showed up to yoga class and that is how we met the first day. Later that affternoon Linda gave a brief introduction (5-6 minutes) / welcome when we all met by the Louvre Pyramide before our museum tour by Sarah. If there had been a short “coffee” meet and greet, the community aspect could have been enhanced. Having led 5 student-led trips to Europe over the past 14 years, this is always part of the first day to help people feel more connected, to share briefly what inspired their participation and put names to faces to create a foundation for a good group dynamic. -We did not share a meal together as a group. The locations of meals / restaurants where people went for lunch were not shared with the group on the FB page. Once the art tour finished, the rest of the day was “on your own” unless one tagged along to find out where others were going. -We did take a group photo after the last yoga class, but several participants had already left Paris. 3. Time for exploring – 5 stars -There was a lot of freedom in our schedule, the art tours typically ending around 2pm. I did not see the group aside from the 1 hour of yoga and the art portion. I would have preferred more yoga, at least as an option. 4. The art – 4.5 stars -Sarah’s (5 stars) passionate and rich storytelling brought the art to life. She is a 5 star class act. - (-.5)We were going to take a vote (as advertised) to spend the final art day in one of 3 locations, one of which was Versailles. However, that option was removed without any explanation. I was excited for the other options, but would have preferred to understand why Versailles was no longer one. I enjoyed myself immensely in Paris. The friend I made is a jewel of my experience. Getting to know Sarah through her love of art and extending that to others was truly a joy to be a part of. Linda and Sarah, thank you for organizing this trip and for combining 2 parts of life that I adore : yoga and French !
