About this trip

This Spring, escape with Jerry Givens for a weekend of yoga, meditation, and rejuvenation at the Land of Medicine Buddha. Located on 108 acres deep within the lush redwoods of the Santa Cruz mountains, this healing space will help ground your energy and guide you to your calm and steady center. While here, you will be nourished by healthy vegetarian meals, guided meditations, yoga classes, yoga nidra sessions, light hiking, and plenty of time to both rest and explore. Spa services are also available for optional additional self-care. Set your worries aside and escape into yourSelf for this magical weekend!


What to bring:

2. Props that you may need (blocks, bolster, strap, sweat towel)

3. Shoes for Hiking/walking (we're in the woods, plan accordingly)

About Land of Medicine Buddha

Land of Medicine Buddha is an environmentally conscious meditation and retreat center. Their campus is located on 108 acres of coastal foothills and stands adjacent to 10,000 acres of redwood forest preserved by the State of California. They are tucked away from the bustle of local beach towns, yet easy to reach. 


The most important guideline there is mindfulness – We ask all guests to be mindful of their actions of body and speech and to be aware that other people share this space, the toilets, the dining room etc. To help facilitate mindfulness we ask that people coming to Land of Medicine Buddha observe these five precepts:

1. No killing (this includes all insects)

2. No lying

3. No stealing (borrowing without asking permission)

4. No sexual misconduct (any sexual activity that will cause suffering to another being)

5. No intoxicants (includes alcohol, drugs and smoking cigarettes)

Cancelation Policy

CANCELATION POLICY.  Registrants who cancel 90+ days from the departure date will receive a 100% refund minus the non-refundable deposit. Registrants who cancel between 30-89 days of the departure date will receive a 50% refund minus the non-refundable deposit. Registrants who cancel between 0-29 days of the departure date will receive no refund of any kind.

Arrival

Arrival - 4-6pm | Feel free to arrive between 4-6pm to settle in and explore the land

Dinner - 6pm

Session 1 - 7-9pm | Our first session will include an opening circle, light physical practice, and yoga nidra.

Jerry Givens is a Yoga & Meditation Educator, Life Coach, and Author who is passionate about wellness, mindfulness, and holistic healing. He has been teaching yoga and meditation since 2008 and he completed his advanced yoga teacher certification in 2014. Since then, he’s assisted numerous yoga teacher trainings and retreats, and in 2019 he completed the Internal Family Systems Therapy Level 1 training program. He is also the author of the popular book "Essential Pranayama: Breathing Techniques for Balance, Healing, and Peace" (2020).

This retreat was wonderful! Plenty to do and very relaxing. Jerry was a great facilitator and leader who was always upbeat. As a Yoga novice I was very grateful that he cued all movements. Can't wait for the next escape weekend!

Had a blissful weekend. We enjoyed great food, hiked, learned important information about meditation, stillness, and practiced Yoga Nidra a lot (something I was new to).

This was my first yoga retreat and I wasn't sure what to expect. I had not met Jerry before, but he came highly recommended. I had an AMAZING time, such a peaceful experience, great opportunity to center and focus on what's really important. Not to mention a beautiful venue and yummy HEALTHY food!
