About this trip

A gridless life. Most of us have a hard time disconnecting from our cell phones and computers on a day to day basis. This retreat is designed for you to break away from the ordinary and connect with nature and your truest self. Set in the heart of the San Juan Mountains, we'll take three nights and four days away from the stresses of daily life to allow ourselves time to reset.

The lodge features a spacious deck/patio for mat placement or I will be offering yoga in the adjacent meadows. There's also opportunity for walking meditations and star gazing.

This year's Backcountry yoga adventure retreat will take place at the Red Mountain Alpine Lodge

which is a beautiful, brand new custom timber frame lodge located at 11,000feet on Red Mountain Pass. The cute little small town of Ouray is 20 minutes to the North and Silverton is 15 minutes to the south making the positioning of our retreat both convenient and remote. Located conveniently only 300 yards from Highway 550 just at the base of Red Mountain #3, we will have access to some of the best hiking Colorado has to offer.

Hiking options include:

Hiking to the top of Red Mountain #3

Hike the Powerline, Putney, MacMillan Loop

Run to Telluride on the Black Bear Pass Road

Hike to Richmond Basin via Commodore and Spirit Gulches

The 3,2,1, Traverse to Ironton

Hike to the Opus Hut on Ophir Pass via Mineral and Porphyry Gulches

I'll also be offering a day trip hike to Columbine Lake and/or Island Lake in the Ice Lake Basin area.

Leave your worries and bring your hiking boots, there will be no shortage of adventure at this retreat!

*Please note all payments are final. No refunds given on deposits. No exceptions. This is a wonderful trip for anyone who wants to explore a new place, get outside and see the beautiful Montana scenery, visit Glacier National park just minutes away, and be treated to gourmet cooking and a chance to meet new friends. Natalie makes traveling easy and so much fun with a flexible itinerary that she puts a lot of effort into planning. I love yoga and meditation, but I must say I'm still a beginner, and the biggest tip I'd like to pass on to others is that you don't have to be an experienced yogi, to have the time of your life on one of Natalie's retreats. Dancing Spirit Ranch is one of the prettiest places I've stayed. The hosts, Tyler and Robin, make the ranch a fabulous experience with their friendly hospitality and amazing dining options. One of the highlights are their surprise sack lunches! I can't wait to go back, I'll do this trip every year if I can!

What a remarkable experience! Natalie’s positive energy is contagious and you can tell that she is in her element when she leads the retreats. We had an awesome group of people and the trip was filled with laughter and memories were made. I’m so glad I was “All-in” for this trip and embraced the motto #retreatyourself. I chose to partake in activities such as horseback riding, hiking, and also treated myself to a massage. Starting each day off with Yoga was refreshing. I experienced my first gong bath and it was impressive. The facilities and property at the ranch were stunning and the food was phenomenal. The ranch hosts Tyler and Robin were so accommodating for our group. I thoroughly enjoyed the retreat and left feeling refreshed and renewed. Here’s to more adventures with Yogi Magee Expeditions!
The trip exceeded my expectations. The surroundings were beautiful and lodging was very comfortable. The trip is not for hardcore, inflexible yogis. The yoga was not your traditional yoga with all the standard poises but was still challenging and provided room for relaxation and meditation. Natalie is great, funny, irreverent and made everyone feel like they were part of the group. I will definitely go on another retreat with Natalie.
An adventure retreat it was! So great to get up into the mountains and experience the Telluride through hiking and yoga. Of course there was also some SUP and biking. The great thing about this adventure is it allows for choice. Natalie was fantastic, responding to the needs of the group and even offering up an extra meditation session before the Via Ferrata portion of the day. I took full advantage of this session as this was my stretch during this adventure and a bit more mindfulness was very welcomed. Also a very lovely group of women to share the time with. If you are looking for adventure mixed in with yoga, this is your retreat!
This trip was awesome. You can go as a beginner or as a real adventurer and you will love it the same. There's a lot to do but you can opt out of some things and just have downtime yourself or you can go on all the adventures. I was really impressed by how organized it was and the quality of wonderful people who came - plus the setting where we stayed in - Telluride -- was absolutely gorgeous. What we did on this trip: hiked waterfalls, did yoga on mountaintops, SUP on a lake, biked to a brewery and so much more. Natalie is an amazing leader and instructor and you'll walk away from this trip feeling energized and renewed... This trip was 5 stars all around. The only advice I'd give is if you can afford to, get a queen bed - so comfy and it's nice to have some privacy.
