About this trip

A gridless life. Most of us have a hard time disconnecting from our cell phones and computers on a day to day basis. This retreat is designed for you to break away from the ordinary and connect with nature and your truest self. Set in the heart of the San Juan Mountains, we'll take three nights and four days away from the stresses of daily life to allow ourselves time to reset.

The lodge features a spacious deck/patio for mat placement or I will be offering yoga in the adjacent meadows. There's also opportunity for walking meditations and star gazing.

This year's Backcountry yoga adventure retreat will take place at the Red Mountain Alpine Lodge

which is a beautiful, brand new custom timber frame lodge located at 11,000feet on Red Mountain Pass. The cute little small town of Ouray is 20 minutes to the North and Silverton is 15 minutes to the south making the positioning of our retreat both convenient and remote. Located conveniently only 300 yards from Highway 550 just at the base of Red Mountain #3, we will have access to some of the best hiking Colorado has to offer.

Hiking options include:

Hiking to the top of Red Mountain #3

Hike the Powerline, Putney, MacMillan Loop

Run to Telluride on the Black Bear Pass Road

Hike to Richmond Basin via Commodore and Spirit Gulches

The 3,2,1, Traverse to Ironton

Hike to the Opus Hut on Ophir Pass via Mineral and Porphyry Gulches

I'll also be offering a day trip hike to Columbine Lake and/or Island Lake in the Ice Lake Basin area.

Leave your worries and bring your hiking boots, there will be no shortage of adventure at this retreat!

*Please note all payments are final. No refunds given on deposits. No exceptions. You have the option to purchase trip insurance upon booking, however, if you decide to opt out of the retreat for any reason, no refunds are given. You may transfer your trip to another guest if you find someone to take your spot for a $90 transfer fee but I am under no obligation to find a replacement for you***

About the Red Mountain Alpine Lodge

This brand new, premium off-grid timber frame lodge offers amenities galore. There are three private rooms and a large loft. There's four flushing toilets, three showers and 3 vanities, radiant in floor heat, a large living room and dining area and plenty of space to cozy up to read a book.

Breakfasts and dinners are included during your stay as well as an afternoon soup/appetizer. A licensed on-site tavern is available and will offer a great selection of local on-tap beers as well as wine and spirits.

There are three private rooms on the main level each of which includes a queen bed and a loft above with two twin beds. The other lodging option is the upstairs loft with partitioned twin beds and privacy curtains. Participants will be placed based on roommate requests and availability.

Book a queen bed to yourself or use code Bestie to share a queen bed and each receive $50 off total cost.

Can we bring our own alcohol? --Because the lodge is a licensed tavern, Colorado Law prohibits its patrons from bringing their own alcoholic beverages to the hut. However, when hiking, trail ales will be provided courtesy of my sponsor Denver Beer Co.

Where can I park? -- In the summer you can drive right to and park at the lodge.

Is there cellular signal, WiFi, and internet access? -- I hope you enjoy your stay more than your smart phone! There is no cellular service at the hut but WiFi is available should you need it.

Is there running water, showers, and flushing toilets? -- There is running water that is safe and clean for drinking and there is three hot showers and 4 flushing toilets.

What if I have dietary restrictions? -- The kitchen is please to accommodate dietary needs and requests. If you have nutritional requirements or allergies please specify upon booking.

I'm a full time adventurer and part-time flight attendant. My passion is teaching yoga, cycle, barre and boot camps along with hiking Colorado's 14ers, blogging, soy lattes and travel. My company Yogi Magee Expeditions is designed to take people off their mats and into the wild for an experience they'll never forget.

This was hands down one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. Natalie is amazing! She’s knowledgeable, organized and super fun. From perfectly selected locations for daily yoga (with insane views) to kick ass adventures including the Via Ferrata, paragliding, biking to the Telluride Brewery and hikes with awesome views and waterfalls. A trip with Natalie is a guaranteed good time. You won’t regret it. Can’t wait to signup for another trip!
I had an amazing time! The yoga in the mountains is just what I needed and the push on the hikes was well worth it! Breakfast was always good. And the best part was meeting some amazing women from all over the US! Women need other women! Friendships are so important!
This retreat was everything I had hoped and imagined it to be. Its hard to put into words how amazing this retreat is, but Natalie put together such an amazing experience that I booked another one of her retreats for the following year before I had even checked out of this retreat. The time spent with the others on this retreat is something I will never forget and I'm happy to have made so many wonderful connections and friendships. The condo we stayed in was great and made it easy to travel from out of state (bedding, towels, toiletries all provided). The proximity to the trail we walked every day to get to the gondola was perfect. I highly encourage anyone considering this retreat to take a leap and sign up!
This retreat was incredible! This is the third retreat I’ve gone on and I’ve signed up for two more. Natalie is an incredible host, finds the most amazing adventures to take her guests on, and you leave every retreat more fulfilled than when you arrived. If you’re looking for a relaxing and/or adventurous getaway, look through her retreats and book ASAP!
Phenomenal trip!!! Well organized, great condo location and set up, so many activities to choose from. All around an amazing experience. highly recommend everyone trying! Life changing and for all fitness levels.

I have gone on two retreats now with Natalie and plan on doing a third (and possibly 4th) next year. The experiences she puts together and the people that she attracts to these retreats are what make them exceptional. Her approach to yoga and adventure is all about self empowerment, you won't find any snobby yoga egos here. If you don't do yoga regularly, you will be fine. If you don't hike regularly, you will be fine. Natalie creates an environment where you feel comfortable, safe and empowered. If you are on the fence, just book it. You will walk away from it with so much more than any other vacation. You will come away from the retreat realizing things about yourself you never knew you were capable of. You will not be disappointed!
