Come alive again. In case the last year has been stressful for you, it’s not too late to pivot. Come and soak up the good energy of the redwoods. Remember and reconnect with what’s really important to you. Come enjoy being a human being rather than a human doing.
This retreat will be a harmonious blend of yoga practices, free time activities, planned activities in the redwoods, great food and a variety of experiences designed to nourish your body, mind and spirit. Decompress from overstimulation, relax and renew. Shore up your inner strength.
Don’t forget to bring a friend! It is so much fun and so meaningful to share this type of adventure.
Land of Medicine Buddha is magnificent. Words can’t describe it. The Dalai Lama himself has stayed on this property. An overarching sense of peacefulness and a heart of wisdom permeates everything there. here.
I'm thrilled to offer our Long 4 Day Weekend Summer Yoga Retreat at the Land of Medicine Buddha. Imagine arriving on Thursday, taking deep breaths, and settling into a time of relaxation, re-set and renewal. Our full program with lots of free time will include time to connect with what's important to you, with each other and with yourself. More details on my website here.
I’ve flown all night to London, Paris, and Rome to see the world’s great masterpieces, driven hundreds of miles to hear favorite musicians in person. Thrilling? You bet. All of it. But nothing quite compares to the golden glow of a hatha yoga session facilitated by a gifted instructor. That glow can shift one’s perceptions of reality, lift them up. And to do so with like-minded practitioners? Among the sacred redwoods of the coastal range? Over four days? With plant-based meals provided by a wonderful chef? A no-brainer!

This is one of the very special sessions you can look forward to during our long weekend. Kirtan under the Stars with David Rhodes and friends.
David Rhodes is a dear, long-time friend, fellow yogi and musician. He is a Santa Cruz-based composer, pianist, and Kirtan leader whose work beautifully bridges the worlds of classical, jazz, world music, and devotional chant. His musical journey is deeply rooted in both technical mastery and spiritual exploration.
Kirtan is a form of devotional singing or chanting that originates in the Indian spiritual traditions. It involves the repetitive chanting of mantras or spiritual phrases, often in a call-and-response format, all set to music. Kirtan is not a performance—it's a participatory practice meant to open the heart, quiet the mind, and invite connection with the Divine, with others, and with oneself. It can be both deeply meditative and joyfully ecstatic.
