About this trip

I am offering an exclusive opportunity to experience Yosemite National Park as a camper. Waking up in the mornings offer a rare experience of solitude in the Yosemite Valley that can only be shared with the other campers, as most of the day visitors don’t arrive until the afternoon and leave in the evening. Yosemite offers postcard quality visuals by exploring the endless labyrinth of hiking trails that litter the terrain. We will be there during the full moon cycle, so visibility will be great for the adventurous ones wanting to explore the night. I would like to have a communal experience for everyone so that we can interact and meet new people. Ideally, I would like 3-5 cooking teams (4-6 people per team). Your team would be responsible for buying and preparing food just once for everyone camping. Meals would be Friday dinner; Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner; Sunday breakfast. We can talk about this later next week.. We should be carpooling, if you have space for any passengers let me know and we can work out an incentive for drivers.

What’s included

The reservation is in Yosemite Valley at the Lower Pines campground for 2-nights, Friday, September 5th to Sunday, September 7th. Maximum allowed to camp is 18 people. If someone has one of those family-sized tents we could hide them in there. ;)

[I will have a Google Doc available for coordinating these things] • Clothes for VERY Hot Weather (High-80s Average / 30 Celsius during the day) • Clothes for FREEZING COLD weather (Possible low-30s/ 0 Celsius at night) • Things that you would need to make you feel comfortable (camera, iPod, Teddy Bear, sunscreen, instrument, bug spray, classroom notes, backpack, cane, TV, energy drink, hat, ect.) • Things I recommend (Water Bottle, towel, ZipLock plastic bag, Sleeping Bag is best or HEAVY BLANKETS, Pillow, Toothbrush/paste, Sunscreen, Shorts, Jacket/VERY Warm clothes, Comfortable Walking Shoes, flashlight (if you have one not necessary) • Anything you are willing to supply that others may lend from you [refer to the Google Doc that will be sent out]

Moy is an San Francisco Bay Area native and self-proclaimed California expert. He posses a wealth of multi-cultural knowledge with an intrigue interest in ethnic food and beer. He's been told that he makes awesome quesadillas on camping trips, and that he has a knack for catching sudden falling objects in mid-air. His Korean friends will also say he's also an expert of all things Korean. He enjoys sharing his local knowledge on trips, with the goal to leave a lasting impression and memory. By tradition all memorable and successful journeys are loosely planned with the travelers directing their own unique adventure. After interacting with international students as a university mentor and tutor, it came to his attention that the university coordinated "Fun Trips" weren't always as they advertised. These university sponsored trips were subject to budgetary constraints that often limited them to time, unorganized and frequently visited the same locations. Since then he has been coordinating his own trips for over 5 years with the goal of sharing the beauty that California has to offer while offering a glimpse at American culture and experiences together. The term "Moy Trip" came about as a parody of the original name, and has become a cult favorite among foreign students.
