The day begins with a safety briefing by experienced guides who will also provide you with all necessary equipment, including life jackets, helmets, and paddles. You will then embark on a journey down the river, navigating through the rapids that range in difficulty from Class III to Class V. The rapids have names such as “The Devil’s Toilet Bowl,” “Gnashing Jaws of Death,” and “Oblivion,” which give you a hint of the adventure that awaits you.
Throughout the day, you will also have the opportunity to take breaks to enjoy the beautiful scenery, go swimming in the river, and enjoy a delicious lunch on the riverbank. The lunch is usually a buffet-style meal with a variety of dishes to cater to all dietary requirements.
The Zambezi River is also home to a variety of wildlife, including crocodiles, hippos, and various species of birds, which you will have the opportunity to see during your trip. The guides are knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the area and will share their knowledge with you throughout the day.
