Madrid is sunshine. With 350 sunny days per year, it’s always perfect for a stroll. A 10-day trip is ideal for exploring a different neighborhood each day. Or, settle into your own corner of this cosmopolitan city. Either way, each area of this capital city offers plazas, shops, green space, outdoor cafés, and of course, tapas bars serving tortilla española and vino y cañas (beers). Choose your pleasure as Madrid offers something for everyone: paddle boating in the park, tasting tapas, dancing till dawn, chowing on churros y chocolate, appreciating art, perusing the palace, or simply sitting in the sunshine. Whether you walk, catch the bus, ride the subway or even take the cable cars, there is always more to see and do. However, if you do explore Madrid completely, don’t worry - picturesque mountain towns and ancient cities like Segovia and Toledo are only an hour away. ¡Venga, vale, vamos! It’s time to explore Madrid!
Arrive to Madrid and settle into your accommodations. Meet up with the group at Retiro Park for a casual picnic.
Spend the afternoon relaxing while the kids play. Enjoy the food (traditional paella and tapas) and get to know the group and your City Friends.
So much to do and see - museums, shopping, parks, soccer game and more! Meet up with your City Friends to explore or enjoy a meal.
Tour the 12th century castle (that inspired the Disney World castle!) and see the Roman aqueduct in the beautiful mountain town of Segovia. Feast on a traditional, local lunch - roasted pig!
While adults enjoy some time to themselves, kids of all ages challenge themselves with ziplines/low ropes, archery, and/or crafting. Kid-friendly food is provided, as well!
Spend the day exploring the medieval city of Toledo, where you can soar over the Tagus River on Europe’s longest urban zipline next to the stunning San Martín Bridge. After the thrill, wander through the winding cobblestone streets of the Old Town, visit the historic gothic cathedral, and enjoy a quiet café lunch with panoramic views.
Your last chance to check out Madrid, grab those last-minute souvenirs or just relax. Enjoy a flamenco dance and final meal with the group.
¡Adios! Time to pack up and head back home!
