About this trip

Are you a flexible traveler? Do you love hiking no matter what the conditions are? Would you rather sacrifice an evening yoga session for a sunset on top of a mountain if the situation called for it? Do you like getting to know people but also love exploring at your own pace?

Then this adventure retreat is for you.

This is the ultimate adventure retreat for the passionate about hiking yogi. We'll be staying in a gorgeous house in the town of Springdale located on the West side of the park where you can wake up and be first on the trails. We are less than .5 miles from Zion National Park main entrance and 500 feet from the nearest Free Shuttle stop! It is 5 minutes by foot to seven different restaurants, a grocery store, gift shops, and more.

If there's enough interest we'll plan an afternoon in Bryce Canyon National Park where we can hike among the hoodoos. Escalante isn't too far away as well for those wanting to explore the slot canyons there.

After a long day of exploring come back to base camp and cook a hot meal in the gourmet kitchen or hang out on the back porch under the stars. Daily yoga will compliment the activities and allow us to connect as a group before and after embarking on our adventures.

From my previous trip to Zion I can say the number one requirement for those attending is flexibility. Many of the hikes in the park (Narrows, Angel's Landing) are weather dependent and while I try and build a schedule our plans may change day to day based on weather.  A rental car is strongly recommended so you can explore at your leisure. The closest airport to fly into is St. George or it's about a 10 hour drive from Denver.

Those attending the retreat should have a moderate fitness level as the majority of the hikes in the park are strenuous.

Getting there

The closest airports to Zion Canyon are Saint George Municipal Airport (SGU) serviced by Skywest, Delta, and United (SGU), 1 hour south, and McCarran International Airport (LAS), 2.5 hours south.

Saint George Shuttle runs daily from Las Vegas to Saint George, UT, and Red Rock Shuttle (435-635-9104) or Zion Guru can pick you up in Saint George and transport to Nama-Stay (inquire for pricing). Saint George Express offers daily transport from Las Vegas to Zion Canyon with one change over. We have found it best to call them directly for that reservation.

Rental cars are available at either airport. April through October, the free Zion Canyon Shuttle, operating in Zion Canyon and Springdale, is excellent for basic transportation through town or into Zion Canyon for many of the park's famous hikes.

A private shuttle transfer can be arranged as well for a nominal fee.

Is there a grocery store nearby?

Sol Foods is 200 yards and less than 3 minutes walk up Juniper Lane. They have a full-service grocery store with a deli, produce section, bakery, and more. "Down the hill" in LaVerkin large grocers include Dave's Market (21 miles), and further yet, Lin's Market (25 miles), Wal-Mart (28 miles), and Costco (35 miles). Those driving in can pick up groceries along the way and re-supply at Sol Foods very conveniently.

Second house rental option

I will limit this retreat to a max of 15 but if the Nama-stay house fills up then I will be renting a second house next door. The purpose of this will be to have the cooking and guests stay at one house while the yoga practice and gathering space will be held at the Nama-stay. The second house has 6 bedrooms:

Basement room: 2 bedrooms. One with a queen bed and one with a queen bed and a twin bed

Main level room: 3 bedrooms. Two rooms with a single queen bed and one room with two queen beds

Loft room: one bedroom with 2 queen beds and a private bathroom with a tub and shower.

Pricing for bedrooms will be marked accordingly.

Please contact me if the retreat says "full" but you are still interested in booking and you do not see these options listed online.

I'm a full time adventurer and part-time flight attendant. My passion is teaching yoga, cycle, barre and boot camps along with hiking Colorado's 14ers, blogging, soy lattes and travel. My company Yogi Magee Expeditions is designed to take people off their mats and into the wild for an experience they'll never forget.

Zen in Zion was a perfect balance of adventure and yoga in an amazingly beautiful setting! It was also a great 2nd retreat with Natalie for me and my best friend, who live in different states, so planning something like this gives us an excuse to get together! Natalie did a great job of organizing the trip so once we arrived all we needed to worry about was what we were going to wear that day! She gave lot's of options and there are no hard feeling if you want to participate in one activity or all of them! The Nama-Stay house suites were so cozy, nice bedding and awesome bathrooms! Another plus was the option to go with Zion Guru Canyoneering, which was so much fun to do something new and challenging! Im not sure what my next adventure will be with Yogi Magee Expeditions, but I am sure I will be back!
This is a wonderful trip for anyone who wants to explore a new place, get outside and see the beautiful Montana scenery, visit Glacier National park just minutes away, and be treated to gourmet cooking and a chance to meet new friends. Natalie makes traveling easy and so much fun with a flexible itinerary that she puts a lot of effort into planning. I love yoga and meditation, but I must say I'm still a beginner, and the biggest tip I'd like to pass on to others is that you don't have to be an experienced yogi, to have the time of your life on one of Natalie's retreats. Dancing Spirit Ranch is one of the prettiest places I've stayed. The hosts, Tyler and Robin, make the ranch a fabulous experience with their friendly hospitality and amazing dining options. One of the highlights are their surprise sack lunches! I can't wait to go back, I'll do this trip every year if I can!
What a remarkable experience! Natalie’s positive energy is contagious and you can tell that she is in her element when she leads the retreats. We had an awesome group of people and the trip was filled with laughter and memories were made. I’m so glad I was “All-in” for this trip and embraced the motto #retreatyourself. I chose to partake in activities such as horseback riding, hiking, and also treated myself to a massage. Starting each day off with Yoga was refreshing. I experienced my first gong bath and it was impressive. The facilities and property at the ranch were stunning and the food was phenomenal. The ranch hosts Tyler and Robin were so accommodating for our group. I thoroughly enjoyed the retreat and left feeling refreshed and renewed. Here’s to more adventures with Yogi Magee Expeditions!
The trip exceeded my expectations. The surroundings were beautiful and lodging was very comfortable. The trip is not for hardcore, inflexible yogis. The yoga was not your traditional yoga with all the standard poises but was still challenging and provided room for relaxation and meditation. Natalie is great, funny, irreverent and made everyone feel like they were part of the group. I will definitely go on another retreat with Natalie.
An adventure retreat it was! So great to get up into the mountains and experience the Telluride through hiking and yoga. Of course there was also some SUP and biking. The great thing about this adventure is it allows for choice. Natalie was fantastic, responding to the needs of the group and even offering up an extra meditation session before the Via Ferrata portion of the day. I took full advantage of this session as this was my stretch during this adventure and a bit more mindfulness was very welcomed. Also a very lovely group of women to share the time with. If you are looking for adventure mixed in with yoga, this is your retreat!
