About your trip
Join Judy Smith and Susan Kniseley-Foy for a week-long adventure at Verdad Boutique Eco-Resort. Nestled along Nicaragua’s pristine Emerald Coast, overlooking Playa Escameca Grande, Verdad is a tranquil getaway with shaded hammocks, lounge chairs, and a scenic pool. Its beach bar and restaurant serve fresh Nicaraguan cuisine. The area’s natural beauty and biodiversity provide plenty of opportunities to explore. Verdad is 20 minutes away from San Juan del Sur with its laid-back atmosphere, beachfront dining, local brews, and quaint shops.
Enjoy the individual care and attention available to you and pamper yourself with 2 daily yoga practices in the open-air yoga studio with a breathtaking mountain-top view of the ocean. Susan will lead the Yang practice in the morning, and Judy will provide the gentle Yin practice in the evening. The time in between is yours to use as you wish.
For our established surfers and surf-curious friends, San Juan del Sur is blessed with a consistent offshore wind that creates clean waves almost all year round. May happens to be swell season, so there are even more options for those who want to take it to the next level. There are board rentals (longboard, shortboard, soft tops and boogie boards) and private and group lessons are available with professional coaches at Sand Bar Surf, who are all experienced pros adept at motivating absolute beginners to pop-up on their first wave and inspiring advanced surfers further.
More a la carte activities include an unforgettable catamaran ride, snorkeling, sailing, SUP, horseback riding, zip-line, and massages.

Daily Morning Yoga
7:30am Vinyasa flow/Stronger practice provided by Susan in open air yoga shala with breathtaking views of the ocean and valley below.
Daily Afternoon Practice
5:00pm Yin/Softer practice provided by Judyin open air yoga shala overlooking the ocean and moving you into sunset.

Massage
Ocean view studio where the sounds of the waves breaking on shore will lull you into deep relaxation. The staff therapists specialize in deep tissue massage, but also offer hot stone and Swedish.
Fishing
We offer panga fishing tours with a native fisherman. We’ll even prepare your catch for your dinner. Fishing excursions can also include skurfing, wake-boarding, and/or snorkeling. 2-8 people max.
Horseback Riding
guided tour of the waterfall on horseback in the Collado Reserve and see firsthand our preservation efforts in conjunction with Vital Actions, or ride on the beach and into the surrounding tropical
Volcano/Day Trips
Full day trips to Masaya Volcano and/or Grenada.
