ANOTHER fantastic trip by Adventure Running Company, and while this one didn't follow their typical format, it had to be one of their most adventurous! A Pack Burro Race in Creede, Colorado was the culmination of several days spent in the beautiful San Juan Mountains, and truly was the highlight of the week from my perspective. But...Andy and Kim (and Aaron, of course) make all their tours a wonderful experience and this was no different...great trails, great service, great food, great people, and great DONKEYS! Who wouldn't love that?! Put it on your bucket list, and as for me, it's not a "been there did that one and done"...I'll definitely be hitting the pack burro race circuit again sometime with my trusty steed Miles.

What a trip! Andy, Aaron and Scott did a great job making sure we had an amazing time. Each day's route was given to us ahead of time so we could have the maps downloaded to follow on Gaia. Shuttling to trailheads was super comfortable in the Adventure Running Van. There were always 2 guides on the trail with us making sure we all were accounted for. I felt comfortable running my own pace and stopping to take it all in was encouraged. Yosemite is such a magical place and the trails that we did truly highlighted such a spectacular national park. I appreciated the opportunity to run with others and also solo. We were pampered in camp- AM coffee and breakfast, food set out for us to make our trail lunches/ snacks and then when back in camp, snacks were always put out while our hosts were prepping dinner. The food was great! Tubing was a fun activity especially on a hot day after our shorter trail day. So much fun hanging out after dinner around the camp fire. I am so glad I finally went on a trip with Adventure Running; it has been on my list for a long time and it won't be my last! Thanks for everything and all the incredible memories!

Adventure Running Company is simply amazing! Not only were they one of the original trail running tour companies (started in 2009), but they continue to be one of the BEST! Adventure Running Company will provide all the information you need to have a safe and super fun tour, yet they expect the tour members to have ownership and responsibility for knowing what their abilities are and what they are in for, and as such, with apps that allow each member to follow along while out running, you may find yourself self-navigating at a stage, but the tour guides will always find a way to make sure you are safe and happy. It's the perfect combination of support and freedom. Adventure Running Company has a slew of repeat customers, many find a tour to do every single year, and often do the same tour more than once. The Colorado Burro Racing Tour was my 4th trip with ARC, yet my 1st trip in the USA! As such, I experienced for the first time the magnificent 15 passenger, super comfortable, reminding one of bus trips in the grammar school years, ARC van! I also experienced for the first time the magnificent culinary skills of Andy, Kim and Aaron. What a treat to arrive to a cozy home full of like minded folks who have enjoyed the trail all day and are exhausted and ready for beverages, reflections, stories, and food! I also participated in the world renowned Pizza and Story Competition, judging completely subjective, of course! A delight! This tour was the first of its kind, and with a wait list equal to the participant list, I am sure it will continue, much to future participants good fortune. Creede, CO is spectacular. The locals and the culture, one of a kind. The burros and the Wann family, whom ARC rented burros from, lovely and gracious. Our lead up to the big day was full of acclimatizing and adventure and anticipations. The race eve meet and greet with our burros, full of love. And the big day, race day, was like waking on Christmas morning as a kid, and delivered surprises and learning and sharing like no other running adventure I've ever had. Burros are wise and ornery and sweet and funny and stubborn and full of opportunity to be humbled as a life long runner. Do this tour! It's amazing!

Never a bad trip with this group. So accommodating and Andy & Kim ,Aaron and Larry are so thoughtful and always make everything a blast.
