As someone who has traveled to over 50 countries, I often look for travel experiences that strike a balance between structure and flexibility. I booked a recent trip with TravelwithMo/Afro Future with the intention of having a light itinerary while retaining the freedom to curate my own adventures. In that regard, the trip partially met my expectations, I was able to plan my own activities and received the room type I requested, which I appreciated. However, the experience was hindered by a significant lack of communication regarding the scheduled events. There was no centralized or proactive update system, which made it difficult to stay informed unless you happened to be in the right place at the right time. In fact, I only became aware of what was happening after a chance conversation with a few men, who turned out to be the event organizers. From that point on, I was better looped in, but it shouldn’t have taken a lucky encounter to be included. Another point to consider, if you're a newer traveler or prefer clearly defined itineraries, this may not be the travel group for you. The informal style may work for those comfortable with ambiguity, but it proved challenging for a fellow traveler I met, new to solo travel, who ended up joining me because she felt disoriented by the lack of structure and guidance. Bottom Line: I wouldn't recommend booking a full travel package with TravelwithMo/Afro Future if you're looking for a seamless, professionally guided experience. However, I do recommend attending the parties, they were well-attended and vibrant, and seemed to be the highlight of the weekend for many. For seasoned travelers who can adapt on the fly, you might find value in the social aspects of the trip. For everyone else, especially those new to navigating travel logistics, I'd advise proceeding with caution or considering other more structured travel groups.
