It is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful, deeply human, and profoundly joyful celebrations on earth, a time when México and its people honor its ancestors not with grief, but with marigolds, candlelight, favorite foods, music, and love. And there is no better place to experience it than at the source: in Mexico City and the state of Puebla, where the tradition runs oldest, deepest, and most magnificently alive.This 2026 AVENTURERA MOTM Retreat takes you across two of Mexico's most extraordinary destinations over six days: the electric cultural capital of CDMX, where Día de Muertos transforms public spaces, museums, and neighborhoods into living altares, and Puebla, one of Mexico's most celebrated colonial states, including the flower-covered streets of Atlixco and the pyramid-shadowed plazas of Cholula, where the celebrations take on a color and scale that will stop you completely in your tracks.This is MOTM's AVENTURERA signature tier, the signature MOTM Retreat experience featuring the exclusive and unique MOTM Co-Guide Model in which a group of 5 to 12 Aventureras will be co-guided by two guides: (1)a U.S. Co-Guide paired with a certified native LATAM Guide who understands these traditions from the inside. Arrival day unfolds at a relaxed pace, with Co-Guides welcoming each aventurera upon landing and ensuring a smooth transition from the airport. Once everyone arrives, the group checks into the CDMX accommodation and settles in. In the evening, the retreat officially begins with a welcome dinner—your first taste of Mexico City during Día de Muertos season. It’s a chance to meet your circle, share your first meal together, and step into the city’s electric October energy as the experience begins to take shape.

The day begins with breakfast before easing into a restorative wellness experience, such as yin yoga or a sound bath session designed to ground and reset. Mid-morning flows into a guided walking tour of CDMX neighborhoods, offering cultural context for Día de Muertos as you explore streets, stories, and traditions that shape the city’s identity. After lunch, the afternoon opens up for personal exploration—whether that’s visiting Día de Muertos installations, browsing local markets, or simply resting and taking in the atmosphere. The day closes with a group dinner, creating space to connect, reflect, and share the experience with your fellow aventureras.

DAY 2

The day begins with breakfast before immersing into a curated Día de Muertos cultural experience in CDMX, which may include ofrenda installations, a museum exhibition, or a seasonal cultural event that brings the tradition to life. Lunch follows at a thoughtfully selected local restaurant featuring a Día de Muertos inspired menu. In the afternoon, the experience continues with an artesanía or cultural workshop, such as sugar skull making, marigold weaving, or another traditional craft rooted in the season’s symbolism. The evening brings a group dinner to reconnect and share reflections, followed by open time to experience CDMX at night during Día de Muertos season, when the city feels especially vibrant and unforgettable.

CDMX Día de Muertos Immersion

DAY 3

The day begins with an early breakfast before departing CDMX for a full-day journey into Puebla state. The experience starts in Atlixco, where flower-covered streets and indigenous festival energy bring Día de Muertos traditions to life through marigold paths, ofrendas, and community celebrations filled with music and dance. Lunch is enjoyed in Atlixco or nearby Cholula, highlighting the richness of Poblano cuisine.The journey continues in Cholula, home to the Great Pyramid and Capilla Real, where the experience deepens with a Día de Muertos cemetery visit—candlelit graves, floral carpets, and the ancient pyramid rising above it all. As evening approaches, the group returns to Puebla or CDMX depending on the accommodation plan. The day closes with a shared group dinner, creating space to reflect on one of the most immersive cultural experiences of the retreat.

Atlixco & Cholula — Into the Heart of Puebla

DAY 4

The day begins with breakfast before transitioning into a dedicated self-care experience, with the option of scheduled individual massages throughout the day or a full spa day pass at a curated local spa. The afternoon is left intentionally open for reflection, journaling, and final exploration of the neighborhood, allowing space to slow down and take in the experience one last time. In the evening, the group gathers for a farewell dinner, a Mexican feast celebrating six days of shared moments and connection. The night closes with open time for your last evening in Mexico, offering a final opportunity to savor the city before departure.

Unwind — Self-Care Day

DAY 5

The final morning begins with a shared breakfast, giving everyone one last moment together to reflect on the journey and the connections formed. After check-out, transportation is arranged to Mexico City airport for departures.
