It was great. Saw a lot of birds and the Culpeo fox! Arrived on time and was a really good lunch included. Franco was very knowledgeable and good conversation.

We birded Maulin River Estuary one day, hiked Alerce Andino one day and hiked a point to point transect along the flanks of Osorno volcano in day three. Pouring rain limited birding in the rainforest though the Fitzroya were the stars that day. Our guide Danae is an excellent birder and wonderful naturalist. She was a joy to spend 3 days with.

Mar 2026 • Couples What a sensational 5 days birding of Central Chile with guide Carolina and driver Christian. From initial inquiry several months previous the contact was exceptional at all times with email replies almost same day even over weekends. The itinerary was perfect covering all habitats of the central region and the knowledge and enthusiasm of Carolina was exemplary. Christian was a competent and extremely safe driver. Lunch was at local restaurants, except for an excellent box lunch in a remote area, and were all excellent with a great introduction to Chilean gastronomy. We would highly recommend Birds Chile for anyone coming to Chile who is interested in birds

Carolina and Tomas arranged the excursion efficiently by email. Danae was a friendly and informative guide. We did not have the advertised tour as Danae and our driver felt it would be too rushed because of traffic conditions but we did manage to spend time in woodland where we saw several new species and heard many others. After some food and drink we then went to a now flooded landfill site where we found a good variety of waterfowl, etc. All in all we had a good day.

We spent a very rewarding and enjoyable time with Senor Carlo Montalbetti as our guide. He is very knowledgeable with many years of experience in the area and was wonderful to chat with. I happen to speak some Spanish, so we had bilingual conversations for most of the day. After scoping out the shoreline near Puerto Montt, we headed to Alerce Andino National Park. Wonderful, verdant and highly diverse habitat where we managed to see all four species of Tapaculos known to be there. Carlo said it was only the second time in all of his trips there that he has seen all four. Thanks again BirdsChile for arranging this. Edwin and Laurel from Michigan, USA.
