It was great. Saw a lot of birds and the Culpeo fox! Arrived on time and was a really good lunch included. Franco was very knowledgeable and good conversation.

We birded Maulin River Estuary one day, hiked Alerce Andino one day and hiked a point to point transect along the flanks of Osorno volcano in day three. Pouring rain limited birding in the rainforest though the Fitzroya were the stars that day. Our guide Danae is an excellent birder and wonderful naturalist. She was a joy to spend 3 days with.

Mar 2026 • Couples What a sensational 5 days birding of Central Chile with guide Carolina and driver Christian. From initial inquiry several months previous the contact was exceptional at all times with email replies almost same day even over weekends. The itinerary was perfect covering all habitats of the central region and the knowledge and enthusiasm of Carolina was exemplary. Christian was a competent and extremely safe driver. Lunch was at local restaurants, except for an excellent box lunch in a remote area, and were all excellent with a great introduction to Chilean gastronomy. We would highly recommend Birds Chile for anyone coming to Chile who is interested in birds

Carolina and Tomas arranged the excursion efficiently by email. Danae was a friendly and informative guide. We did not have the advertised tour as Danae and our driver felt it would be too rushed because of traffic conditions but we did manage to spend time in woodland where we saw several new species and heard many others. After some food and drink we then went to a now flooded landfill site where we found a good variety of waterfowl, etc. All in all we had a good day.

We spent a very rewarding and enjoyable time with Senor Carlo Montalbetti as our guide. He is very knowledgeable with many years of experience in the area and was wonderful to chat with. I happen to speak some Spanish, so we had bilingual conversations for most of the day. After scoping out the shoreline near Puerto Montt, we headed to Alerce Andino National Park. Wonderful, verdant and highly diverse habitat where we managed to see all four species of Tapaculos known to be there. Carlo said it was only the second time in all of his trips there that he has seen all four. Thanks again BirdsChile for arranging this. Edwin and Laurel from Michigan, USA.

Wow, just wow! What an epic trip! Signed up for desert to sky with no expectation and it was such a great 3 weeks. The accommodations in general were great, but none are particularly near anything of interest, so don’t anticipate much to do during your down time. Having said that everything else was absolutely amazing. The food/restaurants selected were always great, the vehicles cleaned daily, comfortable and in fantastic working order and the itinerary hit all the spots. Our drivers (Philippe, Cristian and Francisco) made me feel so safe I fell asleep all the time (which became a bit of a joke). But the gold stars goes to our guides!!! Carolina in the north and central areas was truly the best guide I’ve ever had. She was bubbly, knowledgeable (a marine biologist and true bird lover) and an all around great time. I loved her so much I hope to stay in touch. Luis Felipe from the Puerto Montts area is a fantastic birder and made the best out of a national park strike while we were with him. Victor from the south was such a fun time. He really knew his birds and where to find a few target species we’d missed in other areas despite them being rare in his. His vehicle was amazing for the terrain we were in and he had great insights on the puerto natales and Torres del Paine areas. He even made the best out of a 5 hour ferry delay making his work day 16-17 hours long. Did I mention the guides were awesome? 😃 having had no expectations on the landscapes of Chile and done little research I was blown away by this very underrated country. From dessert to skies, literally. I would 100% recommend this company and trip to anyone wanting to see as much of Chile’s landscapes, birds, wildlife and flora. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
