We (my husband and I) recently completed the gravel cycling trip with Raid along the Camino Ignaciano in Spain, and it exceeded every expectation we had going in. From start to finish, the experience was thoughtfully designed, beautifully executed, and genuinely unforgettable.
The route itself is something special. Each day delivered a new mix of terrain and scenery—rolling gravel, quiet backroads, and stunning landscapes that felt both remote and deeply connected to the region’s history. Following the Camino Ignaciano added an extra layer of meaning to the ride, with a sense of progression and purpose that went beyond just covering miles. It struck a perfect balance between challenge and enjoyment, making it ideal for anyone who wants both adventure and immersion. While the Camino may not smack you in the face all the time with spectacular views, it forces you to find the subtle beauty in things, as is the case in life.
What truly set this trip apart, though, was the staff. Every member of the team was exceptional—knowledgeable, supportive, and clearly passionate about both cycling and the region. They handled all the logistics seamlessly, anticipated riders’ needs, and created an atmosphere that was both professional and relaxed. Whether it was route guidance, mechanical support, or just encouragement on a tough climb, they were always there at the right moment.
The overall experience felt effortless in the best way. The accommodations were amazing and well-chosen, the food was consistently excellent, and the daily flow of the trip allowed for both strong riding and downtime to explore off the bike. It’s clear that a lot of care went into crafting every detail.
This trip wasn’t just a great ride—it was a complete experience. If you’re looking for a gravel adventure that combines spectacular routes, top-tier support, and a deep sense of place, we can’t recommend this highly enough. This is our third trip with Raid and we can't wait for the next one!
