Climbed Mera Peak with Nepal Eco Adventure in May 23. Administration of the trip was excellent with quick, helpful responses to my queries before travelling to Nepal. Joined an open group but ended up travelling alone, which was fine as met lots of people along the way. Flew to Lukla by helicopter organised by trekking company - highly recommend as saves a lot of time and discomfort. Met Sherpa Dendee and porter Nema at the village. Trek from Lukla to Mera Peak high camp was wonderful passing through local villages and staying in some lovely tea houses along the way. Climbed through forests and then into the mountains. High camp on Mera Peak is spectacular - perched on the side of the mountain with incredible views of the high peaks. Summit day started at 2am and reached top just after sunrise on a glorious day. People say its the best view in the Himalaya and they're right with Everest and Lhotse as a spectacular backdrop. Returned back to Lukla via the equally spectacular snow filled Zatra La pass. All round a wonderful experience. My thanks to Sherpa Dendee and porter Nema for supporting me so brilliantly all the way, and to Chhandra in the Nepal Eco Adventures office for all his help.
