This was my fourth trip with the Emilies and the Historical Travel Society, and as always, it was a wonderful experience. There is such comfort in traveling with them, as all the advanced communication, tips and advice were perfectly reflected in the actual travel experience. Portugal was lovely, from Porto and Coimbra to the Schist Villages, Lisbon, and Sintra. All of our local guides were amazing. From our arrival and accommodations to the itinerary and departures, everything went smoothly. I highly recommend traveling with the HTS ("The Emilies"). They are the best!

Morocco was my first time traveling with the Historical Travel Society, and it won’t be the last. Five of us were on a flight that had issues which ended up being cancelled. I had never met these ladies and we instantly worked together to figure out a plan. On the other side, Emily was able to assist us with transfers and helping us catch up to the rest of the group. Once we did catch up, it was smooth sailing. Our local guide Abdul was amazing. I learned so much about a place I had not known much about and ended up meeting a great group of people that I can’t wait to travel with again!

Great itinerary, tour guides were lovely.

After a fairly quick pivot to Morocco from Jordan I was very impressed with how great of a trip we had. I appreciated the variety of cities we visited, with walking tours that helped familiarize and give us some background on the different areas. The tour was definitely go-go-go but I was very happy with the amount of free time available and that we had several hotels that we stayed in more than one night. It was also very clear when people would be able to skip out on activities so that if they weren’t feeling well or just needed more time they could take it. Also- I’ve done a tour type trip before and really found I had to stick with the people that I knew rather than feeling able to chat with anyone that was traveling along. That definitely wasn’t the case with this group of people! It was nice knowing that the type of people who would sign up for a tour with the Emilies are (probably) people you could find something in common with. There was a good mix of first timers and return clients, and I really felt like it was easy to chat with anyone.

Wow! What a week in a Morrocco. We covered so much history, culture and traveling. This tour was excellent and our guide and local guides were very knowledgeable. Our group was a great group to travel with. Our days were busy, but there was also enough down time. Delicious food options, clear directions each day for time/expectations etc. looking forward to another trip!
