Highly recommend not diving Gordon Banks until November. We did not see anything during our dive and are very disappointed that we were sold the idea of schooling hammerheads out of season, especially for a dive with such great costs. I had originally message hammerhead divers explaining what we were looking for coming to Baja and we were told about Gordo Banks. They explained we needed to do 2 days of diving because Gordo Banks is an advanced site which we understand. It was a bit out of our budget and we were kindly offered two options on how to keep our costs as low as possible. I really trusted Cristina and was very excited about our upcoming dives. Our first two dive days were nice, not pretty reef but sadly a fair bit of rubbish (not the dive schools fault). We were happy to have passed the dive checks and we just thought it was worth it to be able to do the famous Gordo Banks. The day came for Gordo Banks and we arrived at the site. It felt a little bit unorganised as it seemed like the captain and guide weren’t 100% sure on where the dive site was when looking at the GPS. We eventually dropped in. Throughout both Gordo Banks dives we saw nothing other than about 3 jellyfish. Obviously we were gutted. When we got onto the boat, I said to Cesar “are we just really unlucky” to which he replied “no it’s out of season”. To have been sold the idea of schooling hammerheads and paid almost £700 for the two days of diving for myself and my partner and to find out that it was out of season was insane to me. I couldn’t believe they would even offer the site if the chance of seeing them was essentially 0. I was of course devastated after the dive and tried to move on. It wasn’t until I spoke to another couple of dive schools who told me that no one should be going to Gordo Banks until at least November because you won’t see them. I feel so betrayed and heartbroken for this experience. I understand the ocean is the ocean and there is no guarantee of anything. The problem is being sold something that is out of season. You wouldn’t pay to go on a whale watching tour when they have migrated out of the area so why would you sell this to someone when they are 50-80 meters deep. Offering a partial refund would have been the right thing to do.

This was my second trip diving with Hammerhead Divers in Cabo, and once again they exceeded expectations. This time I brought my son so he could get certified as well, and the entire experience was outstanding. The instructor was professional, patient, and thorough, while making the process enjoyable and confidence-building. Learning to dive in Cabo’s incredible marine environment made the experience even more memorable, with some amazing sea life. Watching my son complete his certification and do his first dives here was something we’ll both remember for years. I highly recommend Hammerhead Divers for both new and experienced divers looking for a safe, professional, and unforgettable diving experience.

Thank you for an incredible two days of diving in Cabo! The dives within the bay and Gordo Banks were vastly different but equally beautiful and I’m grateful I got to experience both. The guides were very friendly and made me feel safe the whole time. If I returned to Cabo, I would happily dive with them again!

Our scuba trip with Hammerhead Divers and Ophelia was incredible. We dove with them for two full days, both near San Lucas and Gordo Banks. The communication, equipment, and care was top-notch. Ophelia was one of my favorite dive guides. We saw so much great wildlife. Highly recommend.

We just got back from an incredible trip with Hammerhead Divers in (April 2026) and honestly can't stop talking about it. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the ocean, it showed in every part of the experience. The highlight was obviously Gordo Banks, where we came face to face with multiple hammerhead sharks. Absolutely surreal. But that was just the beginning, we also encountered sand tiger sharks, whitetips, manta rays, and a stunning variety of other marine life. The biodiversity out there is just unreal. The crew kept us safe while making sure we got the most out of every dive. Logistics were smooth, the equipment was well-maintained, and the briefings were thorough and reassuring for divers of all experience levels.
