This is a magical place. Please don’t hesitate to book. We are interested in getting off the beaten path and the ride down to the valley was certainly that! We would highly recommend a 4 wheel drive/SUV. The casita is the perfect size for 2 people. The bed and couch were very comfortable. The kitchen has what you need to prepare simple meals. A good refrigerator, utensils, etc. The homemade bread, jam and butter was lovely. Do bring food with you, though, as you will need to navigate back out of the valley to get it! It gets cool at night so be prepared for that. The duvet was plenty warm enough but there are extra blankets. The host has a space heater if you need it. The sounds of the river surround you the entire time. Having coffee outside on the morning listening to the birds was fabulous. We ordered lunch and dinner from Shan and it was terrific—homemade bread, smoked trout: PERFECT! The host family is just lovely. They are developing their homestead where they will live off the land and they really enjoy talking about the plants and sharing their vision. We did not leave the property during our 2 night stay, but we did walk a mile to the top of the mtn and back which was lovely (and good on the lungs). If you are feeling the need to disconnect with the world (though there is wifi) and connect with nature, this is the place for you.
