As a professor of acting, I was excited to come to Costa Rica to learn more about Hugh O'Gorman's pedagogy, but what I received was that and so much more. The location is magical. It is the jungle, so it comes with all that the one of the most bio-diverse places on earth provides: lizards scurried across the path, leaf cutter ants worked tirelessly every day, ant eaters climbed trees, poison dart frogs posed like statues, butterflies of every color, size and shape darted through the trees like fairies, howler monkeys howled like demons in the night. We hiked waterfalls, swam on deserted beaches, saw whales and dolphins, learned to surf...as an adventure destination, the Odyssey delivered. As an acting journey, the Odyssey delivered more than I realized I needed. I came looking for new tools to use in the classroom, and I left with those tools AND healing and new approaches to life. I also left as part of an incredible community of people with whom I had shared my greatest dreams and vulnerabilities. Each person I shared these 7 days with touched my soul and will always hold a special place in my heart. All my judgements and assumptions were shattered every day - about others, about myself, about how this journey called "being an actor" or perhaps "life" can be lived.

I had the trip of a lifetime! This program by Fay Simpson, creator of The Lucid Body, was everything I imagined it to be - plus some! We had yoga and acting training twice daily. I learned so much and left with a very toned body, a new level of self realization and characterization. This was an intense program, presented with such skill and intention. Additionally, everything was so perfectly organized. The people at the lodge were all very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food prepared for us daily was delicious, artfully presented, and low in calories. It was all fresh and natural, no GMOs. The natural fruit and vegetable drinks were refreshing and healthy. There was a re known bartender at the bar who made milkshakes and other drinks; non-alcohol as well as alcohol. There were a sufficient amount of activities and massages to partake of, in addition to the yoga and training calendar already programmed and anticipated. Simply being in the jungle and experiencing nature in this way made the purpose of the trip so fascinating and unique. The air is clean, beaches are near, and the jungle is very lush. Anyone who missed this, missed out!

Transformative! The schedule flowed perfectly combining deep class work, relaxation, and enriching experiences. The venue was fantastic, a perfect taste of local life.
